I was the first to start trying to bring this crap to FDev attention almost as soon as the 3.0 release happened. it was a dumb thing to do either way. the reward system should ONLY offer MONEY and MATS
Because... ? :S

I think that, since I'm giving up potentially a lot of credits in exchange for rep, you'd better believe that I'd want the ranking to go up more quickly than it used to. That's basically the entire point of the reward choices.what do you guys think?

But hey, thanks for contributing to the noise that will see these reward choices nerfed and thus make it pointless to choose the non-credit options..

Oh look! Another CMDR who went to Shinrarta the home of Elite CMDRs and saw lots of big ships and now feels they're thing is smaller than everyone elses.
This forum really does complain about everything. For years we've been complaining about the insane rank grind. For a couple weeks it's gone, and now this.
You got it backwards. It's the people with the big ships who are complaining that everyone else gets one too
Hello dear Forumplayers.
Now im a not so proud Corvette owner... it doesnt feel like i earned it properly, remembering how much work went into the Cutter.
Have a good Day.

This place is like the hangout for neurotic gamers.
Hello dear Forumplayers.
So yesterday morning i was up early (7am) and logged into the Game. Sitting in Shinrarta, i saw 7 Corvettes, 1 Cutter and one Chieftain in the List of Commanders.... wait.. 7 Corvettes? Wasnt that a special and Rare ship once?
I went investigating why everyone has a Corvette now... found a Youtubevideo that showed how to get ranks fast with the latest Beyond Update..... well holy Sh*t.
I farmed weeks or more like months to get my Cutter back in the Day, and now i was able to reach Rear Admiral within one single Morning by just picking the reputation reward on every data delivery mission.

I think F-dev fails to find a middle ground. First it was to much grinding or to much work, now it is way to fast. What do you Guys think?
Have a good Day.
It was a bad system. It encouraged players to find exploitative ways to earn rank, as you would never earn enough rank playing normally.
People forget that the maintenance costs on the Cutter are outrageous, and anyone who obtains that ship before they are a Billionaire is going to eventually go broke keeping its integrity in check. Not to mention the ReBuy costs for either the Cutter or the Corvette.
if you dont like it, youre BOTH more then welcome to get the F outOh you've noticed
And I might as well say this again: REMOVE THE RANK GRIND!
whats the point of mentioning something that doesnt matter with the way FDev F'd up the ranking any ways duhThere is actually an exploit out there to gain rank which I've never even once seen mentioned on these forums. It's the true definition of exploiting too, always wondered why it isn't mentioned more often...
The rank lock would be fine though if it had tailored missions for it, but that doesn't feel like it's ever going to happen.
