Corvettes and Cutters are now Super easy to get.

I wonder if the ongoing patch "Adjusted reputation reward numbers to balance Superpower progression speed" will affect this.

And yes, I do already own 2 of the Big Three (Cobra and T9)

so much rage... calm the f down son, never told ya how u need to play, i told ya that's cool if u want cheevos, i repeat EVERYONE has to grind A LOT to outfit properly a ship, the ppl that dont do pvp little less but has to do it anyways, even the ones who bought the ship since the wing trade thing is active (too bad for them if they are going to do some engineering for the first time with one of the bigs ones... but it's their problem not mine)

800 HS, so u think that EVERYTHING i have is since last week, ok. ok. haha!

There is variety actually (even in thinking terms, it's a right, even on internet, some ppl call it democracy.) , if u dont like it's your problem. Indeed i don't like to play solo, keep telling others how and where to play, go to bed son.-

You came here with paragraphs of awfully scrawled insults, calling me a fascist for disagreeing with you. Does the irony not smell so hard you have had to wrap your nose in bandages?

But anyway, keep going. I'm definitely the angry little child, and I'm definitely not sat here with a coffee and cinnamon bun laughing at you losing your marbles all over the floor, all because someone suggested you should have to work to achieve something. Hard concept to get to grasp with, I know :)

You have a strange definition of "hard". How is any courier mission "hard" in this game?

Courier missions are not hard. Running them day after day, week after week for weeks to get one rank up where you need 11 more is hard. Not everyone would endure that long. It's not hard what you do - it's hard how long you have to do it to get the "reward".

Overall, after finishing rank runs for both Empire and Federation I find the whole ranking system heavily broken. In the end I'm granted high rank which translates to some sort of power. Due to that power I'm granted access to locked system and I'm granted access to ones of most powerful / most prestigious ships. And how I do that and where?

By running errand boy tasks in some backwater system where dogs bark with their rears. Not the centre of political power (which I have to unlock at earlier stages), not at the major system where you get truly difficult tasks proving your worth. You want to be a Duke? Go to the province and deliver letters between illiterate farmers. That's the feat worth of Duke.

Hello dear Forumplayers.

So yesterday morning i was up early (7am) and logged into the Game. Sitting in Shinrarta, i saw 7 Corvettes, 1 Cutter and one Chieftain in the List of Commanders.... wait.. 7 Corvettes? Wasnt that a special and Rare ship once?
I went investigating why everyone has a Corvette now... found a Youtubevideo that showed how to get ranks fast with the latest Beyond Update..... well holy Sh*t.
I farmed weeks or more like months to get my Cutter back in the Day, and now i was able to reach Rear Admiral within one single Morning by just picking the reputation reward on every data delivery mission.

Now im a not so proud Corvette owner... it doesnt feel like i earned it properly, remembering how much work went into the Cutter.

I think F-dev fails to find a middle ground. First it was to much grinding or to much work, now it is way to fast. What do you Guys think?

Have a good Day.

Easy to get, hard to master.

Hmmm yes, it's disturbing meeting "mostly harmless" Corvettes.
I don't like it. That's everything. But i better close my eyes.

How very disturbing must it be for you that I own a Corvette and am currently bashing my head against the wall grinding my way up towards "Dangerous" to unlock L. Jameson? And all that to engineer that Corvette for exploration...
Not everyones playstyle is centered around Combat.

And while I do admit that the credit rewards might be a tad high for new players in Sidewinders, who then miss out on a large percentage of "stepping stones" towards their Pythons and bigger, I was really happy to shorten the last few ranks towards the Corvette after the mindnumbing grind that was the Cutter.

You are a very bad person and have ruined my game.:D

I grinded for a year to reach Elite, have a permit for Shinrarta and get a Corvette, and it was fun and worth it. I posted a positive review this morning about how hard progress can be in ED but how satisfying that can be. Now I wonder.... Are us old-time grinders going to be rewarded for 2 years plus of investment or be shot down by a host of newbies in Corvettes, that once prized ship which was a badge for endurance?

Hahaha. Unbelievable how petty some can be. And if you get shot down by a newbie in a Corvette I would say you deserve it.

It never fails to amaze me how bitter people who have decided to grind for X thousand hours of this game to get their favourite ship can be. I'm sorry you wasted a chunk of your life bashing your head against FDev's inability to come up with interesting/fun/meaningful gameplay loops, but your impulse to insist that everyone else go through the horrible grind you did just seems bizarrely vindictive to me.

Own your bad decisions. Alternatively, if you think they were good decisions and you're proud of your achievement, then own that and leave others to make their own without judging them for not being as much of a video game masochist as you.

A little thought occurs to me, an argument that has been used many times in a different context, but which is quite relevant here. Elite is an ever developing game, or so Im told by the horde of white knights...it is evolving over time.

So the question to you would be, why do ye not want the game to evolve and keep the past grind? Do ye want the game to stay stuck in yer own past? Times change and ye either move with the times or yer a stuck in the mud old timer who refuses to change...I can see quite clearly which camp you belong to.

Ye seem to have this chip on yer shoulder and yer carrying it into the future to spread salt unto those who really dont deserve it. Its not the players who made this change, but frontier...go open a ticket to them and whine to them cos damned sure theres not a whole lotta caring on the forums fer that sorta toxic attitude.

I was happy to finally be prince/admiral, but then I was thinking: "All this grind just for this? Some systems access and unlocked ships?"

As a top ranked persons, it would expect some recognition from the npc when they adresse me in the comms. Some more fitting mission selection too.
As an admiral, I would have liked to have a fleet at my disposal that I could give order to and fight of some pirates.
As a Prince, I would have liked to be given a system outside of the bubble by the empire to manage.
As an Elite Trader, a fleet of cargo ships that I send to do some automatic trading.
etc...

I just expect more gameplay from a game with that much potential.

Oh damn.. i come back into this thread and see how some people went full psycho on this... holy crap. It was more of a "F-Dev pls find a middle ground to the unlock-Requirements" Thread than a "omg everything is bad now" thread.

OP, it's not like the game is new. I assume players who are still around have plenty of credits to spend on a Cutter or Corvette.
It used to be Conda's everywhere you look, now it's Cutters and Corvettes.
