With 3.0.3 update, FD brings us PVE ships on the surface which is material hunting :) Nice touch!


While i was hunting material on the surface, i met PVE ship Cobra MKIII first time. It was quite surprise. In the SRV i scanned it and it showed "wanted". But opening fire to ship is illegal with SRV. I called my ship and opened fire. Mmm, nice bounty it was :)

I saw this in 3.0 and was muchly surprised. An Eagle, just sitting there on a planet surface! I too scanned it and found it wanted, so I killed it with my SRV.

i found a lone wanted viper laying on the ground in 3.0.2., but i don't think this is actually new to 3.0. afaik there always have been lone ships parked on planets, though usually you would find them in the vicinity of a poi. i have no clue what the intended gameplay with them is, they seem abandoned.

No, definetely new. I play everytime in Solo mode. And till today, i never see any PVE ship on the surface (Parking). I'd like to think it is a ship which is material hunting too. We will never feel alone on the planet's surface henceforth :D

Me too.

First i opened fire with SRV and nothing happened except gain 400 cr fine. But PVE ship wasn't answered. After that my ship opened fire and it just said something like that; "Oh no, how this happened" and died peacefully :)

Maybe he were at his SRV that time and couldn't reach his ship :) i don't know. It is maybe possible a bug?

In the Beta, I found an Anaconda on the surface marked as 'wanted', so I used it as target practice from my ship .... was interesting watching how the different weapons I used dealt damage to the ship without having to worry about retaliation. I even claimed the bounty.

Idle ships have been around on planet surfaces for a long time, and have sometimes just taken off for no known reason. But since 3.0 they have been sat around as 'wanted' and have not reacted to weapons fire.

Kind of odd, really. Might be an unintended consequence of "hot" ships with the new C&P applying also to NPCs.

Could be a precursor to space legs .... they walked off somewhere.

I have found those and never played the latest patch, they were there before.

I encountered many cops parked near POIs long before 3.0/3.03, but never any ships that scanned as wanted. A few pirate wings did flyovers, but just scanned and ignored me (my ship was not on the surface).

I observed a parked ship, an Anaconda on the surface, and 3 system security ships flying above it, all firing on the landed ship. I just sat in the SRV and watched as the Anaconda finally exploded, it was a great explosion and pieces of the ship flew for many meters in every direction. I drove to the explosion location to see if by chance any mats were dropped, but there were none. Good explosion though.

i have seen parked lone ships before related or near poi some of them have been system security vessles, or all of them rather. One thing i have noticed now is that more Lakon ships are wanted, like the Type-6 and 7 and i have also come across criminals without shields.

Guess I should have killed that Diamondback Explorer with the 41,000 CR bounty yesterday. But, there was also a system authority vessel lurking about and I wasn't interested in getting a fine or shot at.

Been seeing them since way back, when they first brought out vulcanism and I started spending a lot of time looking around on the surface of planets and moons. Maybe there are more of them now but I couldn't really say, I don't really take much notice of them, leave them alone they leave you alone!

Belive it or not these were present before the Beyond update. you just had to luck out when searching vast areas of planets in populated systems ;)
