RES Farming 3.03

I've been giving it a go tonight. What I found out:

1. Earnings per hour with the new KWS is approximately the same as it was before 3.0. I was making about 3 mil per hour with a KWS, but half my time was collecting materials.

2. I got my biggest single bounty ever. 508K for a deadly FDL. I've had 490K a few times before, but never over 500k.

3. They've turned up the amount of friendly fire you can give without getting a fine or bounty. I gave several ships a good blast with medium beam lasers and didn't even get a message. That's without targeting them of course. I was using beams all night and didn't get a single warning. Pre 3.0, I would get one assault every two or three hours on average. Maybe I was lucky and concentrating hard tonight.

4. I've never really farmed materials there before, but I gave it a good go tonight and found some interesting occasional drops of things like chemical manipulators and even one pharmaceutical isolator. The problem is that it's really slow and boring picking up all those things, though it is worth checking in case there are any nuggets.

5. The AI is similar to what it was before 3.0. Nothing to fear.

So you're making as much now using a KWS and gathering mats as you were before, sans KWS but also not stopping for mats? Sounds pretty decent.

I've noticed that since 3.0, large high-ranked ships occasionally drop one or two mats that are otherwise extremely rare. Definitely worth checking your contacts panel after killing a dangerous+ anaconda. I've run into several very rare grade 5's that are normally only available in very specific USS situations.

No, you've misunderstood. I made half as much because I was spending half my time picking up materials. Spawn rates were similar to pre-3.0 and bounties were maybe higher on some ships.
