Sol permit

How do I get a sol permit? step by step.
I have my rep up to friendly, and I'm bopping around NANOMAM.
I literally need a real step 1.. Step 2... ETC.

Step 1: Get friendly with a local Fed faction (Looks like you've done this)
Step 2: Do many Rep+++ missions.
Step 3: Once Navy progression has been fixed keep an eye out for Fed Navy missions (they will have Federal Navy in the title) to move to the next rank
Step 4: Repeat steps 2-3 until you rank up to Petty Officer (rank 4) which will give you the Sol permit

I have seen a single one in a long time. so thats

Does it help to be in a certain system at all to find those navy mission?

Unfortunately the last update broke navy missions, but you could still work on your Federation rep while you wait for them to be fixed.

go to sothis and ceos put that in your map, plote a course there, land at ceos, take all the boom data missions to sothis system, rinse repeat, you have to get to the 3rd or 4th rank to unlock the sol permit.

you dont, you cannot get it anymore, vets complained and had the rank up missions needed removed, they where mad people could in days or weeks, do what it took them months or years to do...rank up with empire/fed...you need federation rank to unlock sol, you are SOL( out of luck m8) because, they removed those, to make vets happy.

wont work, fed/empire/etc rank gain is frozen and rank unlock missions removed, you have said you are one who reported this and demanded it be addressed, for your pride.

stop telling people to do things that wont work or do them any good, nobody can rank up or unlock anything now, and thats a good thing, it should take years of in game time before people can get fed ranks or unlock the big3...you said so yourself...it hurts your pride knowing others got things faster...

Rank gain hasnt been frozen, shut your mouth and quit lying. Rank promotion missions are broken right now, but that doesnt mean our fellow pilot here cant still be gaining rank. Course he will find that out for himself if he does any missions and sees his rank percentage go up slightly. But you, sir....just stop.

navy rank gain frozen, turning in missions gave us ZERO gain on empire or fed... but itsa good thing ThePunisher and other vets DEMANDED they do something to protect their pride in how long they had to grind to get their ranks!!!

the fact some of us had ground the rep prior to 3.0 and just wanted to unlock the ranks...well....we just want an easy win button and everything given to us, hes said so himself....as have many other vets here and on the steam forums!!!!

Just because you can't get the rank missions doesn't stop you building rep for the next rank. As for your conspiracy theory, there isn't any evidence that FDEV listen to ThePunisher, he complains about lots of things.

its not gained even 1% in 3 circuits for me and riqi in Kamitra for empire, all empire to empire deliveries..

Guess we are liars, or doing something wrong.. its always user error... the game has now bugs or flaws after all!!!

If you are only getting 1% for 20 missions then yes you are doing something wrong.

I can't post more than a few words without being moderated. But this is not true for everyone, my fed rank will not go up at all no matter what I do, just like empire and navy....

he and others have said the complained alot till fdev listened...and they did...thats why it wasnt just nerfed but, give the vets a week where nobody can rank up.

Can confirm; have progressed from 1% to 23% on Baron just today, and that was only a few hours of salvage work in Imperial territory this morning. So once again: shut up. Seriously. There is enough saltiness and naysayers on these forums without you being a total nimrod.

strange, 2 of us have gained ZERO from doing loops he even tied doing fed missions, no gain on his post rank.... at all... but hey... im sure we are doing somehting wrong, its always user error with this game, same as the wing comms panel beaking..

If you do not pick the missions from Fed minior factions you won't gain rank. Most likely you are taking missions from all the factions in whatever system you are in, and most of them aren't Fed aligned.

Only 3 of the 7 factions in that system are allied with the Empire. I bet you take missions from all seven.

It's not set up that supporting another faction makes the competitions ranks drop so there is no reason for the rank not to be going up.. So I just landed and turned in a passenger mission for the Federation, and gained one percent onto my post commander rank. So don't know what your issue is, but the fact of the matter is rank gain is still working. Rank promotion missions for the time being are bugged. I'm done here...I've gotten so distracted paying attention to this thread that Ive almost done the loop of shame twice and waste a bunch of time at stations.

Your rank will only increase through the missions from the Imp aligned factions however. If only 3 of your 20 missions are from them your rank increase will be very slow.
