Frontier's HUGE Hill to Climb

Frontier is going to have to do something absolutely spectacular to bounce back from the total and complete failure of 3.0.3.
Just read through the forums. Nearly every complaint and bug complaint is legitimate. They are too numerous to count. I've been playing since launch and this really got me this time. The random crashes, refusal to fix things, taking 5 steps backwards when trying to take one step forward... Frontier has screwed the pooch harshly on 3.0.3.
I honestly have no clue what they can do to bounce back from the pure technical failure of this update. Frontier lost what little credibility it had left.

Question - What can't you do now that you were able to do prior to v3.0.3?

A few hiccups sure, but a great update IMHO. Never had the game crash on me once, server failures excluded.
Be glad Bethesda ain't in the driving seat.

well prior to 3 we could wing up... and not hav eit bug every systme jump...

prior to 3.0.3 we could rank up our navy ranks...that was removed due to vet complaint of noobs unlocking stuff in less then months or years like it took them.... they are gonna bring them back as follow on missions with much slower gain, so it wont take hours or days but weeks or months, like it should...if you want to lock a dropship, then fas, or courier then clipper...months work minimum is what it took vets... who had to walk up hill both ways in the snow to turn in quests!!!!

I think you're very upset and should take some time out. It's hard to take you seriously when you're spamming the same message on nearly every thread.

FDev will fix it - just breathe and relax.

Are there some issues? Sure. But I'm sorry this is complete and utter crap right here.

This may be your own personal opinion, but it is no where near fact, or anywhere close in mine. I think it's been a fairly decent success. But then again I like a lot of the recent changes.

Also I have had very little crashes or other technical problems, other than the server hiccup a few nights ago. I've been playing the game fine. And actually feel like I'm making in roads on engineering now, save for a few high mats I can't seem to track down at all.

I've never seen FDev refuse to fix anything. Just because your gripes haven't been addressed yet, or fast enough for you doesn't in anyway suggest they refuse to. And every thread recently is hardly a legitimate complaint. Sure people think they are, but many are really just over the top and not founded in reality. Many others are simply people unhappy with new penalties and systems.

And the rest have some valid and useful complaints and criticism.

But this op here? Complete and utter trash as far as I'm concerned.

I really think this line should return to the patch notes for 3.0.4.

Uhm. Okay. Doom then?
I see a few issues with the new stuff, but the forum does what gaming forums do best: rant 'n' complain. I played a lot the last few weeks and didn't run into any game breaking issues, and since I am playing together with others those also didn't run into game breaking issues.
Apart from that, the "refusal to fix things" is a pretty dirty assumption.
I could also just assume that you are "deliberately trying to give Frontier a bad name" which would go for naming and shaming and would be against forum rules. But we don't exaggerate or assume bad things from one another here, do we?

no , there are no bugs in this game that effect game play, the games as fun now as it was pre-patch, nobody needs to rank up....nobodu merits rank up without at least 3200hrs in game...im told this by steam "vets" of this game.... over and over...

and on here... well.... im 100% new to the game and just want an "Easy win button"/"instagib", if i didnt, i wouldnt have any complaints about the game ever ;)

You are aware that there is lots of room between "unplayable" and "free of bugs", right? Like black and white are not the only colours in the world (which aren't even colours actually). It's like things are either bad OR good, but can't be inbetween. And there is also no criticism without something being totally trash.
I like Elite. I also like the stuff they did with 3.0, and I even like the newest patch, _even_ if some things went wrong. Stunning, huh? Criticism _and_ love in one and the same sentence.

Ummm, "total and complete failure" seems harsh. Personally, I haven't noticed any bugs yet (although I'm sure there are some).

Actually white is all colors and black is the absence of color. If you're discussing it in terms of the visible spectrum of light.

But then actually black is a color, and white isn't a color. Well if you're discussing this in terms of chemically created/ molecular sense.

But then you're back to black isn't a color and white is a color, because well it's based on absorbed/reflected light. :O[blah]

And then don't even get started on the idea of what is color even, and does it even really exist? Or is it simply a construct of the human mind and everything is really a different shade of fuzzy grey, or is it gray? Wait which one of those is a color again?

Oh and don't mind that last person you quoted. I think they're in the midst of a psychotic episode or something.
