Let me be blunt, OP.

Now that you've made this thread, you can kiss any dreams of being a moderator goodbye. That's it. It's over. You blew it for yourself.

He who wants to be a moderator is the worst person for the job.

Welcome to the gritty underworld of being a career normal user, now for life.

His dreams.... crushed.

:( Sad face.

Delete this account, start a new one, stop posting threads at the wrong board, don't use F's and stop asking for a mod job. Just a few things that come to mind.

No OP. You don't want to be a Mod.

I was a Mod for a now defunct Steam group. A good chunk of my time was spent reviewing a LOT of false flagging and even doubling back on some of the other Mods to ensure the rules set down by the founder were being properly enforced. (And a lot of the time I had to fix their actions since they were faffing about.)

While I'm sure that moderating an official board has it's own benefits and drawbacks and is not like Moderating a Steam Group at all. I'm certainly not sure I qualify for the job since I'd have to change how I act on the boards and be more 'professional'. Otherwise I'd get stripped of the position in short order. I like being sarcastic.

It was a thankless job.

I also want to be a moderator.

My pledge to all of you kind and intelligent forumees is to close any and all threads not explicitly requesting hula-girl bobbleheads or HUD colour customisation, and to doggedly pursue my own narrow agenda in the face of any and all facts or popular opposition. Even T.j!

:) Vote Henry for election in 2018 [noob]

The fact that mods have to deal with stuff like this almost makes me want to join them.
I wouldn't do any moderation work, I would just be the guy who comes up with funny closing lines. :D

I've been a forum moderator more than once. It's most certainly a labor of love, highly under-appreciated, very time-consuming, and sprinkled with a great deal of interesting challenges.

I can assure anyone, there's never "no reason" a thread gets closed, and no Moderator worth the color code on their name tag plays favorites. Forum Moderators are bound by their own special sets of rules, and the quickest to become an ex-Moderator is to violate those. Few folk have what it takes to Moderate for any length of time, and fewer still have what it takes to both stick with it and do it well.

It's somewhere between being kindergarten referee and an orderly in a mental hospital.

how the F do you get to be a Mod for Elite Forums?
I wanna be able to OPEN "Closed" Threads that get closed after 15 min of discussion for "no reason", haven't been resolved, wont be resolved, because the Mods Frontier, apparently, pay to "monitor" their forums obviously don't want them to be discussed.

Just wondering, but i'll be surprised to see this here in the next 30 min, honestly
Now go to the corner; pick up the Teddy and give it a hug. Find you self some where nice and comfortable and relax.

As rainbow farts said: You blew it on so many levels. As someone else pointed out: Those that want and demand to be something; are not right for the job.

I wanted to be a mod, but they said I had to learn to read first. That alone sounds like too much effort.
