Long haul trucking

I spoke too soon, Long range to the bubble is still in the game. Damn it, why did I switch to my Python.

Can understand you not wanting to reveal the station but can I ask if it's just one station or do a few in the area offer these missions?

I have no problem revealing the station for long haul trucking, it was the xeno haulage that I kept to PM.

Long range is heading out of Agricolas accent, there are others in this region too.

Edit - I am seeing missions offering 2.5 million for 66T, so it will work for smaller ships two. My advice is to head out in a Cutter or T9 (Max cargo config) Fill up with 20 of these missions. (max seems to be 8-9 million for a single 180 tonne, depending on cargo value)

I wonder how long that will last now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak :)

Awesome cheers o7 I had zero interest in the other missions, I just fancy going back to my old profession for a while :)

I think they hit the xeno mission, long range I think is part of 3.0, they have been here every day, and reported by others at remote systems. I assumed they had been removed, only because I checked a station last night and couldn't see any. It's just how the BGS works, have to keep moving around checking fringe stations. Agricola has been very reliable.

This is all medium value cargo, and quite low tonnage for the payout. Currently sitting on 460 tonnes in the bay, payout is 24 million, I still have plenty of room to take on more, current capacity is 752 tonnes. You are looking at around 40-50 mill for a long haul trip, I think that is reasonable for anyone that owns a Cutter or T9.

Seems to have echoes of Robigo?

Thanks for this. I'd say that 40-50 mill is a good return.

All legal tho, so not much hassle except for the usual interdictions, keep in mind it is long range so you will get a fair bit of hassle enroute.

something else you have to be careful with, as you can see in the screenshot above, most of my cargo is fine, the personal weapons will be illegal in many jurisdictions, best to check and offload any cargo like that as a priority.

Just curious, how long time to make a round?

From the old days i ferried bio waste im my cutter and tried to optimate so i both filled the hull and diden have to land at at 20different starports and get a decent payout/h (in my mind that was fun).

If i guess you have to land at 5-15 different starports to unload that is roughly 25-75 minutes for unloading, before that 15-20 minutes jumping to the bubble and 10-15 min back out, that ends up with ~55-105 minutes "fly time" boardind/hopping ? If 20-60 minutes. This will avarage ~120min and give 20-25mc/h. I am just guesstimating on the numbers! In my book this is not gamebreaking.

How far from the truth am i ? :p

Yeah about 15mins to the bubble laden (21LY hauling 704 tonnes) Return trip is unladen in a T9 at 35LY, so takes under 10 minutes. The missions come in batches, either all to the the same port, or ports next to each other.

I don't mode switch, if you switch you'll likely get missions to all parts of the bubble. I am in the bubble and back well within an hour, but I am full throttle in SC all the way, the 64 tonne tank means you only need small top ups occasionally on the scoop.

You can actually get the T9 back out the Pleiades unladen without refuelling. The 64 tonne tank is a beast.

I've been known to fail the odd mission. Do you not find that some of these missions (since 3.) now have random disproportionately high mission failure fines - sometimes double and treble the reward payout?

Sounds like you are talking about cargo wing missions, this topic is about high paying long haul cargo missions. Fine on failure is slightly more than the cargo value, so not excessive. If you fail then head to a Port with a black market.

You have 24 hours to complete the haulage run, way more than enough time.

You could be right, although I have primarily been focusing on solo hauling missions.

Also, thanks for the BM suggestion.

D'oh, was a bit off. (if i go with my minimum time im not so far off;p ) Interesting that t9 has got so potent jumprange, how is it in normal flight. Hated to fly it, only bulktraded in it to get a anaconda a long long time ago.

It sound good you do not have to boardhop and can fill her up so fast. 40-50/h seams ok for a elite trader:cool:

I often misread those missions as "Deliver 180 units of Democracy" and can't help but imagine the US army carpet-bombing some middle eastern village.
