Haven't been able to get my SRV out of my Courier for 5 days now.

Okay, then I come back to the very first question I asked you: what would be better? How long should the punishment be for someone who butchers, for example, fifty noobwinders on a rainy afternoon?

I already answered that too. The decision not to differentiate between NPC murder and player murder was a very odd one.

I did. I just disagree. You did the crime, do the time... or, just pop down t'anarchy chop shop, ditch that SRV bay, and go racing while you slowly keep paying off your debt to society via your corvette lockout.

Are you kidding? YOu find it fair and reasonable, that I should be unable to outfit my ships in my home system for eighteen hours of gameplay, because of a few friendly fire incidents in a comp nav and I didn't feel like being inconvienced to leave the instance cos they wanted to commit suicide? If so, then we can definitely agree to disagree. MOst games are over and done in 18 hours of play. That represents prbably a week of play for me, and I play a fair few hours a week. I really encourage you to think about it.

Personally I won't encourage people to AFK in Elite for this reason. That burns rainforests, graphics cards use serious power, no joke. I think that's extremely socially irresponsible. Call me a greenie if you want, I'm actually not, I drive a 350z, but that's because that's fun. Burning rainforests to compensate for some game mechanic is something I can't do, it's not fun, or worth it in any way. No poke intended, just sharing something.

That's your choice and I can respect that. I have UPS attached to my computer and I've seen how much electricity it uses in day/in a month. Short answer - not that much. I generally leave mine on from the time I get home Friday night until the time on Sunday night I'm done. On extended breaks, mine will be on 24/7 - and only the monitor will go to sleep. Again, still not that much power consumed (the APC UPS software even puts in in green terms of carbon emissions, # of trees to offset, etc.).

Anyway, just trying to be helpful. A lot of things in 3.0.3 have caught people off guard - and I'm talking about the features, not the bugs.[noob] (Limpets as a reward choice, but no Neofabric Insulation/Articulation Motors/Microweave Coolant hoses?! Argh! [mad][mad][mad] )

Okay. So when you say:

I Haven't been able to get my SRV out of my Courier for 5 days now. I shouldn't be denied outfitting in my home system for 18 hours of gameplay under ANY circumstances.

You really mean to say:
I have been able to get my SRV out of my Courier in two minutes but I decided not to. I shouldn't be denied outfitting in my home system for 18 hours of gameplay under THESE circumstances.

Its pretty different. ;) Anyway, yeah, I think this topic shows just how differently people perceive ED and how it ought to be. Which is fine, to each his own. :)

Well, tbh I'm still a bit stuck on achieving not9 by accident (yes, I did read your OP and the other thread where you described it), and 18 hours does sound like a hard core punishment, but there are options - which you have chosen not to engage with...

I'm not entirely unsympathetic - copied edit from previous post:
PS I've had to cut and run from a battle because of ff incidents, it kinda sucks, and I've previously asked for a 'my bad' option for these situations. Until that appears (if ever), I've been a lot more careful with my weapons since 3.0 completely restructured our ability to spray our way to glory.

I guess if I ever accident my way to not9, we'll see how I respond.

Well, rest assured it won't happen again. But that's a shame. As I said, I was always careful, I don't murder. This was me enjoying my corvette after i first got it and as I say, not feeling like being inconvenienced by the poorly considered decisions of the AI. Instaead I get inconvenienced in my home system for a truly ridiculous length of time. I just think it's cruel and unusual and also not at all supportive of fun. Being paranoid about hitting things and being forced to levae instances and re-enter cos of suicidal AI, it just makes the game worse.

My wife uses Senokot, she swears by it. Me, I prefer a good curry, probably not as effective but more fun.

Taken under advisement. ;) Thank the missus for me please, although a madras right now would go down a real treat.

Unfortunately the saying doesn't really apply here; at least not fairly. Time here is not consistent.
Normally I agree but because of the nature of how the C&P system appears to implemented 'doing the time' is nonsense.

WHY?

When you log out, the BGS's wheel still turn. Offline / online. Docked / in flight. In game menu / in game. Doesn't matter, BGS still runs.

Aashenfox's nefarious activities have net him 18 'hours' of C&P.

Extreme scenario 1: Aashenfox plays. Enter SC in one direction until out of range and safe from NPCs. Leave PC on. Goes to bed and returns to game after 18 hours. C&P cleared
Home system has had 18 hours of BGS etc

Extreme scenario 2: Aashenfox plays for an hour a week. It take 18 weeks to clear C&P
Home system has had 18 weeks of BGS activitiy.

C&P carried out like this would work if the BGS stopped when the player logged out. But it doesn't.
I think the current implementation is a bit bonkers and a bit pants.

An really, there aren;t many players LESS nefarious than me, I just chose this one occasion to say 'screw the consequences', I wanna keep killing legitimate tarets and screw it, anythign else that turns red. And 3.0.3 dropped right after, so suddenly, hey, no outfitting for you boyo. You gotta go to an anarchy system, and WAIT for your gear to get transferred.Your home system is basically going to be useless to you for the next 18 hours of play, mwuahahahaha, CRIMINAL! Doh. lol. Pants is a great word, now that I live in Greece I don't here it often enough. Very apt under the circumstances.

If you truly want your voice, complaints, and any possible suggestions heard by those that matter, That is if you even really, actually care about this, then may I suggest.

Seems the perfect time and place for all you have discussed here.;)[up]

I don't have any proposals, I'm afraid. I present a lot of ideas in this forum, but I'm not doing their thinking for them on this one. I just want to pee and moan impotently until it's changed. I don't think my kind (or should I say in the mood I'm in right now about it) would be welcome in that discussion.

You almost wish there was an option to turn yourself in at a detention center or whatnot.

Now there's a thought. That very nicely fits in with my white knightey unless you annoy me in-game persona. But then the griefers could abuse it too.

I honestly belive the best approach is to have player kills treated with new CnP and NPC kills not (only the 3.0.3 changes rolled back for NPC kills, everything else can stay for NPC kills, and keep 3.0.3 notoriety as it is now for killing clean players).

Cos I wasn't generally averse to the new CnP, it's a bit convoluted, but its ok, only this service denial is ruining the experience fpr me now. I really do not thinkI should have to leave my home system for a real life week or two just cos I thought it would be a laugh to kill some NPCs. Along with that paying to transfer your modules, other ships, which may or may not now have an extra permium. Urgh...AND have the same inconvenience with any other ship I'm idiotic enough to make the smallest mistake in WHILE I have that notoriety. Double urgh...

Ok I see. You're one of those types. That's cool. I just thought I'd point it out. I guess don't enjoy your game? But hope you enjoy something else.

Hmm...

- clearly knew the Game rules (Law of the Galaxy)
- violated those rules profoundly (Notoriety)
- couldn't be bothered to dock at any Anarchy Station
- couldn't be bothered to buy a clean, cheap Ship
- couldn't be bothered to pay the tiny fee to store or sell an SRV Hangar
- somehow isn't able to "deploy SRV" from his Wanted Courier to race with friends (why ??! It'll work like a charm)
- ... complaints that there's consequences, preventing him from "playing as usual"

Sorry, that's all nonsense in my mind.
A mere 3 hours before he can pay off absolutely everything and be clean like a Saint again. That's super lax and easy, doesn't get much easier than this.

Everything working as intended and taking it (as usual) very easy on the Criminals.

Try to show a bit of respect, I'm a huge contributor to this forum, and not just ranting. Go teach someone else to suck eggs, and take your smarmy attitude with you please. Thanks.

- failed to get point of thread. You're completely off your rocker if you think getting locked out of services in your own home system for 18 hours of gameplay for shooting up some NPCs who were trying to kill you, is fair and reasonable.

Just in case someone gets any inspiration from your post: do that and you'll probably die due to fuel shortage disabling your life support. ;) Stay on the pad folks! :p

Just a mere suggestion: you may want to know a bit more about people before slinging generic comments like that. Aashen is not 'one of those types'.

Well I happen to like that things like that can happen and one has to go to Anarchy, but I guess its matter of taste. But also maybe someone already mentioned it but no reason to avoid CZs, not possible to commit crimes in a conflict zone.
