Hcs voice packs altering other apps code?

So the code has been found, it's been proven to be true so nobody is using HCS anymore, right?

An interesting twist would be that FD buys the company for a song ...... the timing might have fallen into FD's lap. (Depends on liabilities uncovered during due diligence.) Or they pick the company up later, after the (space) dust has fallen.

That would be a smart move, and incorporate it all into ED, they could then make a function like VA but inside ED.

I wonder how many here have uninstalled Windows because of their anti-competitive tactics.

Never installed W10 if that helps :)

Still wondering if I should do a charge back or not.

To each his own I suppose - for me, I really enjoy hearing a different soundtrack after many years of the same thing over and over again :)

Oh don't worry, I was not trying to debate matters of taste. If anything I wanted to make it clear that my position does not pertain the quality of the respective product as perceived by myself, just the conduct of HCS.

Because it is not about Elite: Dangerous, but about general gaming? The Voicepacks have profiles for SC too, for example?

It's a very poor excuse. HCS is primarily used with E: D, and FD have also worked with them on the new voices. Shoving it to an off-topic forum, without the usual Moved marker in the original forum, is rather suspect behaviour.

Right, lets knock this stupid conspiracy theory on the head now.

Thread redirect notifications have a time limit and disappear after a set time. Whilst there was one set (it would currently be on page 6 of DD if it was still visible) it appears to have been done with a short time limit.

Moderators sometime take actions that not everyone likes, but just because some people want to pursue their own agenda's in relation to this or any other issue, that is not a reason to start theorising that FD are trying to ignore or hide issues. This thread was moved by the moderators for reasons already stated.

Get some perspective please.

Given the requirement of an OS to run a computer it's hardly the same thing....

Google? Facebook? Apple? Or is it just MS you don't like? ;)

(I'll come clean... I am biased towards MS as they pay my wages...)

I don’t by dislikes do have many Microsoft products.
But when people here are on their high horse because of HCS (which have reverted their actions) but are fine with other companies doing the same and worse, there’s a name for that.

Who says people are fine with other companies? I avoid companies I don't agree with in many situations, that also include 3rd party companies who got a shady business model. We actually got a mega thread right here on this very site.

Prior to this reversal, as you call it, malicious code was present in HCS's plugin from the release of Singularity on Feb 28th. They had been lying about this throughout the entire episode, deleting forum/discord comments and banning their own users for nearly a month. Do you suppose for even a second they would have reverted this if they had not been caught red-handed and so publicly roasted?

... or would it have been more of the same? Wrong is wrong. Reverting their malicious code doesn't excuse that fact.

So is it safe not not now to get the voice packs?

I wonder how many here could give 2 euros about vague tactics. Its cutthroat for international corporations now.

I just built a new comp and it went as smooth as an asian spa.

You can edit every security setting when you install win10 64.

Easy to bad mouth MS. You forget Gates gave away 1/3 of his wealth.

OK so I'm not getting them I see. Repped
