General / Off-Topic Idea : Peoples age on thread starters.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have users age attached to new threads so that people can make better judgements on how to respond.

e.g. the response would/should be different depending on age of poster:-

NOT FAIR THIS GAM IS POO : started by ploppy [age 12]

is more understandable than

NOT FAIR THE DEVS NO NOTHING : started by mrdog [age 33]

Or at least, if not age then guidelines i.e. schoolchild<16, student:16-25, mature:25-34. old man >34 ;)

You'll find the bulk of us are between 30 & 60, kinda makes it even more worrying when you flick through certain topics.

I would rather people respond to the idea/intent of the thread, instead of perpetuating stereotypes and labeling. That's just me though.

I have to agree with mohrgan here. Judge an idea by it's merits not by the person who presents it.

Children shouldn't be on the internet if they can't take criticism for their immaturity as well.

No, it would NOT be a good idea because it is illegal under age discrimination law and with the incoming GDRP.

GDRP is going to be a huge change to the relationship between companies and their clients/customers.

I get where you are coming from, but when I tell you I am a beautiful 18 year old blonde girl, do you believe me?
It's the internet. You can't believe anything. Age indication would be close to meaningless.
Very often you can guess the mental age of a forum poster from the way he behaves on the forums. That is good enough for me.
