Just the other day I was grabbing lunch at a local lunchroom. Its the kind of place where you put the stuff on your plate and pay before you eat, so nothing too fancy. Directly in front of me in the line was a couple who, when she (yes, she, deal with it Jason ) about to pay, realized she left their wallet at home. They were about to leave, telling each other how it was no big deal in the kind of tone couples use in public prior to a fight in private. Its clearly not an expensive place, and their combined lunch was E26, so I figured I could take a little gamble. I offered to pay for them, and in return they would transfer the money to me with the bank account number I gave them.


Today I checked my account and noticed a transfer of E26. Faith in humanity: restored.

I agree. I love Dutch folk. Served a few hours in Iraq with them and since then my job takes me there a few times a year. They are brilliant folk.

Humans are humans however. We fail. We are defective. There are idiots and mass murderers among us. But overall, I think hope and thinking we are on a positive trajectory is the only rational way to engage. Most persons are good. Not all, but most.

If someday we as humans realize the "news" focuses on the worse 1% of humanity, then maybe we'll all turn it off and focus on the 99%.

I did over ten years ago and have no regrets.

I do not believe that it was the objective of the OP, because his action is not a great humanitarian cause and can not arouse our admiration

The OP wants to underline here the hope in the honesty and the trust in the humanity
