Im done.

Yep i know its my fault, I didn't think they would actually make it so if I died without enough insurance money I would have to start over again, THAT. It already took me 200 hours to get there lol. Have fun though everyone else :) This game is def just a grind fest with way too much to lose if you make one mistake. Like hitting the wrong button, and dying. Then having 200 hours wasted.

Yes I know you dont care.

Actually, we do care. But what you'll find is a lot of people asking why you were flying a ship you couldn't afford to lose.

I've been there done that, trust me. In an Anaconda no less.

You're not alone in your stupidity :p

I have to question why you'd think they wouldn't make it that way when there is insurance in the game, but uh, good luck with a different game I guess. You could always message support and explain that you didn't understand the rules, maybe they'll help you out, you wouldn't be the first person to get a ship back.

I do care.

I would like to ask you what it is you want, in Elite. If your answer is "To have the biggest ship and every module godly engineered" then yes. Quit.
But if your answer is "To pilot a ship in stunningly made universe, doing what ever I want" then I let you in on a secret - you can do THAT in a Sidewinder.

But I suspect it is the former, in which case all I have to say is - try not to live your life like you played this game. o7 commander.

Ooooh I'm first to ask, what did you think the outcome would be if you lost your ship and no insurance...?

I'm also one of those that don't think this game is a grind fest. But I'm also one of those that don't have to win this game after a few weekends of playing. I've done my fair share of errors, 1 where I, as you, lost everything having too little left after a-grading my corvette and went to a hazres, and aggroed a little too much... yup, good times :D

So, good luck in your other probably way more awesome games than Elite Dangerous.

EDIT: darn my slow writing!

Look right: If the little number at the bottom is larger than what should be the 'larger' number at the top. Don't launch. Sell a module, find a cheaper ship. JUST DON'T LAUNCH!

This IS rocket science, but one of the simplest parts of the game to get wrong.

Don't fly without rebuy.

Nah man, lots of us care.

Its why mission rewards should scale with rank as time goes one. One grind slows down(becomes passive) while the other begins(engineering).

You did screw up with the no rebuy thing though. No doubt about it. But I do feel there is a problem with how the game/grind is weaved.

Still a great game. Just has trouble in some parts. Hope you come back later if they ever fix some of these issues.

It's entirely your fault.

Adding a small warning whenever docking off without insurance cover still might not hurt (though people would still complain).

And yes, indeed, I don't care. You spent 200 hours liking the game. You'll be back anyway. :p

Nope it was to have fun exploring and fighting stuff. Nope you def can't do that in a sidewinder. It took me way to many transport runs to get a ship big enough to do anything. You cant take a sidewinder, and go do combat, or exploration. You can't even jump very far in a sidewinder.

Lol live life like this game, get out of here. Insurance doesn't work like that at all, not even close. No one gives some one a 100 million dollar anything for 10 percent. It should be you buy the insurance before hand, and if you lose it you get it back, not this stupid way. I didn't even realise how that worked till it was to late, because there was 0 chance of dying in what i did.

You def didn't care, you just wanted to make fun of me so stop your nonsense.

You are right if i knew if i died I would have to start from starch i wouldn't of did it. But there is no way I am grinding another 200 hours to get it back.

I really wish this was the case. Every gander at the mission lists has me thinking "You want me, to do this, for this little? I think my rank, reputation and standing deserves a little more recognition".

Ignore the spleen. Elite may be an older demographic, but some are still post-pubescent.

Elite can be a grind, and many of us are perplexed as to why Frontier makes it that way. Yet it is also a virtual world in space, a cosmos, that is designed not to be played per se, but to be inhabited. That legitimately takes a long time. The gaming aspects are supposed to pay for the simulation aspects. Whether Frontier can ever get the gaming right, as well as gaming's balance with the simulation, is anyone's guess.

Sounds like you are a relatively new player?

Early on in the game a guy took a sidewinder across the galaxy, video/stream of it too. It was an epic adventure. He did drink a lot of whiskey. Legend.
