All of the problems with this game make me nervous for Jurassic World

I realize this post may be moved. Anyway, to be completely honest, I can't say I have a lot of confidence in Frontiers ability to make a good video game. I am a huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise and having played Jurassic Park Operation Genesis many times I am fairly excited for Frontier's Jurassic World Evolution. That said, the missteps in this game have kind of made me lose confidence in the company. For me, it's similar to the situation with EA. They have screwed up so many times with their games that I am no longer excited when I learn they are involved with a new game.

Some of the decisions made by Frontier in this game make absolutely no sense. In my opinion, a lot of this games problems are simply down to terrible decision making rather than technical limitations and such. I ask this mostly in jest but is Jurassic World Evolution going to rely on third party sites too? Perhaps those making the poor decisions for Elite are not involved with Jurassic World Evolution, or are better at park sims than space sims. I do take some comfort in the fact that apparently Frontiers other game Planet Coaster is pretty good. I know this post was somewhat rude, but its truly how I feel, sorry.

So, does the success of Planet Coaster then give you hope for Jurassic World?

That really is nonsensical.
Jurassic World is developed in a much more traditional manner than the huge Elite Dangerous spacesim. They are incomparable.
Elite Dangerous asks a lot of patience because it is developed over time while we are playing it.

You might perhaps compare Jurassic World to Planet Coaster to make sense.
Planet Coaster is one of the best games of its kind ever created.

I guess a big movie franchise is safer in the hands of a developer that sticks to safe conventional game types like FPS and Mobile instead of fairly niche' stuff like open world online space games?

You could say the exact same thing about Creative Assembly. They are a victim of their own success in the real time strategy genre, the total war games seem to be somewhat marmite dividing fans and the gaming press, as the games have become more complex they have been accused of not addressing bugs etc.

They seemed to do okay with the Alien franchise though. I'm sure it would have been MUCH safer in the hands of an established safe developer/publisher like EA or Ubisoft or whoever makes your lowest denominator type stuff what you like, but they did alright.

Ah yes, like EA's Star Wars license? We have dismissed these claims.

FD and EA are very similar!

They both have 2 letters, and have been around almost as long as me. :D

Lol

JWE will be good. Don't panic!
FD have a history with making good/excellent park games. :)

JWE is the kind of game Frontier is good at. It's a theme park management game. Instead of rollercoasters, you have dinosaurs.

They're good at management games no so much with action games.

Isn't it just gonna be coaster tycoon with over grown reptiles? People get eaten istead of flying off the rails? And 4 movies of "brilliant" scientist making the same mistakes and expecting different results? Or will someone come to their senses and call in the actual military to solve the problem. I want to see tanks vs. T-rexs dammit! :p
