Give the python an SLF!

Let's make the python great again.

With that said, all ships should have some form of external fighter. And the scale should go from two SLF'S for large ships, one SLF for medium ships, and a drone fighter for small ships.

Dude, they are all drone fighters, as you are not actually in them because... Telepresence.

So don't install the bay on yours?

i still dont think you are getting it.

whether you install it or not, having the unremovable parts of an slf bay on a ship changes how it handles...
dont believe me? as i keep saying compare the FGS to the FAS. the only major difference is the SLF bay isnt it? (please correct if i am wrong)

if SLF bays are just added to ships with no effect on handling, then that totally removes any point that the FGS has in game... it would essentially be pointless, just like it was pre SLF ability.

I'm hoping the Krait will fill the role of respectable medium SLF-capable multirole. I know the keelback is a medium ship, but... I'm talking high-end medium.

The only thing that changes how a ship handles is how they code it. The game is full of hand-wavium already, a little more doesn't bother me in the slightest. So I guess I am not getting it as you say.

I wouldn't really want an SLF on a Python. Sorry, I disagree. SLFs should be mostly in the territory of ships that can't evade damage, which the Python can, albeit not as good as others. Basically, tanks.
Now, allowing crew members to pilot one of your small ships for you at increased cost in a wing, with regular wages automatically deducted? That might be fun. It would be nice to have a sidewinder crew buddy following me around wherever I go, since I'm bad at being social. Of course, you'd lose the crew member if their ships blows up.

When was it not great?

Seriously, if you want a multirole with a fighter then buy an Anaconda or wait for the Krait.

I want a python with a fighter. I just like the feel of the interior. It's nice and comfortable and velvety. Now, if FD would allow us to change the interiors, then we'd have something there.

FD won't do this. It's too hard for them.

While there are a couple of improvements I would like on my Python, a SLF bay isn’t one of them. Should FDev in their wisdom choose to make it an option, Inwould probably not load one unless the made a lot of other unpleasant changes.

On the other hand, if I could dock a small ship (maybe limited to the smallest 3 of the small ships in an SLF bay, then I might change my mind. Although I only want that for the large ships at the moment.

I can't believe this thread is still going. They python is already one of the best ships in the game, it can already do almost everything and is better at some professions than the ships that specialize in said professions. If anything it needs a nerf not a buff.

Of course this thread is still going! The people want an SLF in their python!

You're wrong. The FGS is heavier with different internals and more daka.

Yeah and I want my clipper to have 1k base shields, 2 fighter hangers, better hardpoint convergence and to fit on a medium pad. But you don't see me demanding that because I recognize it would be a ridiculous change.

Just because people want something doesn't mean they should get it, especially when it negatively effects ship balancing.
