>3000 shields on a Corvette?

All this may give you over 8500 MJ of shield if you want.

Do you mean effective shield strength cos 8500MJ sounds pretty high. Even with prismatics and 8 boosters I thought you were looking at about 6k.

Personally, I have about 4.5k with resistances around 50% IIRC. I spent a couple of days re-engineering all my boosters. The resistances doesn't change much but the new system gives much better returns on the heavy duty boosters. There's not much in PvE that will get through those. They get worn down eventually in CZ's and I had to pop a couple of SCB's the other day when doing an elite wing assassination mission but when you have 3k of armour backing up your shields it's not much to worry about.

Which reminds me, today I should have access to the Smurf princess' shields again.
Will be buying 2 x 7A prismatics for my 'vettes and maybe an 8A prismatic for my T10, as well as a bunch of others.
My wallet will be significantly lighter afterwards.
Be sure to stock up a good amount of 5As, if you own medium ships, a T9 (or a Cutter, if we have the optimized mass experimental effect back).

Yeah,

I'll probably be spending as much time in front of my ship spreadsheet as I spend in-game over the weekend. [blah]

4300 shields here - 7A shield + 4 Heavy duty +1 Res Aug
7A SCB. Can stick around a haz rez for ages collecting mats with cargo hatch open at the same time.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to it.

Actually not, have a look at post #11.

You didn't mention you were using res aug boosters too, I was specifically talking about all super capacitors vs all kinetic resist special on heavy duty, sorry for the confusion.

Because I don't use aug resist (which is because I don't have access to prismatic), I was able to balance my resistances (albeit a little lower than yours) using kin resist specials on all heavy duty.

It certainly seems I need to play around with some aug resist boosters though. I was turned on to this recently by another thread as well, some experimentation is needed.

But consider, I'm only 300mj less than your posted build with only an A rated shield, although your resists are some 10% higher than mine (balances out almost, actually, but I think your build would be slightly better, in pve resists are everything).

What mods on the shield?

I'm more interested in the resists. :)

Easily done even without prismatics. 7A reinforced shield with 8 boosters (2 thermo, 2 resistant and 4 heavy) would give you around 4.5-5 GJ. 7A prismatics can give you 6+ GJ. All of this with good resists (40%+ thermal, 50+ kinetic and explosive).
Of course, the only way to recharge this in field is reboot.

If I ever see a vette with that many boosters, I know his PP is overcharged and will melt in 4 shots of a super pen. ;)

How did this get to 3 pages? :D

So - bottom line, I need more shield boosters to get to the higher numbers but my resistances are okay. I think I'm running a more multi-function ship rather than out and out combat build, so I'll need to look at what other modules I'm using.

Just need to decide whether to stick with the resistance augmented boosters or swap to heavy duty. I'll see what figures I get when I finally get the one I have up to G5 (which is NOT easy!)

Also: thanks everyone! The way to get the best shield config is LOT clearer now.
