Why are my Powerplay NPCs French?

I had a crash at an engineering base. Relaunched the game.

All of a sudden, all Powerplay NPCs are French! Where it would in English say "Alliance Enforcer", it now says whatever the French is for that.

Nothing else has changed language. Just the Powerplay NPCs. Everything else is English.

I've seen bugs. But this is just weird.

Not helpful I know combining Australian with pidgin French.

Have you been in open? Maybe there was another Cmdr in your instance who had his game set to French and all NPC's were named before you dropped in?

Yes I was! He wasn't responding to my comms either. I'll log in to Solo, see what happens.
