I see the forum is full of posts defending it as being perfectly natural with lots of images of organic things on Earth.

I was reading similar responses when someone posted the screenshots of the symmetrical planets where people were saying "eh lol" and posting lots of pictures of symmetry in organic nature.

Do Star Citizen fans really not understand how planet surfaces are formed? They aren't organic, surfaces are not formed by evolutionary changes and two planets don't meet and have babies. This is really basic stuff and people posting on the internet that it's fine because grass looks like this or human faces look like that should be banned from using a computer IMHO

Honestly if they released a version with a flat Earth backers would say that's absolutely correct wouldn't they?

CR is taking a great deal of money from people whilst - in your words "lying" -whereas DS in this case is lying because it's winding people up - because that's just what he does. It's still lying but there is no profit in it.

They are different things done for different reasons.

I can't work out if you've had a sense of humour bypass or it's just that DS really gets under your skin for some reason, you're clearly not an SC "fanboy".

He's very good at that sort of thing you know.

I just pointed out, when people clearly took it to be real, that DS was talking crap. As usual. That doesnt mean he gets under my skin or I had a humour bypass.

But dont worry, I knew in advance the usual stuff would happen here. I am just pointing out what is factually true to people reading this topic, you guys can insult me as much as you want for it.

This is really the only forum I am aware of where this happens. Even over at SA people are sick and bored of his nonsense. And I dont really know any other forum where it is okay to post photoshopped messages from competing companies either...

Except that what you actually did was imply that he made something up with a very specific purpose, when as a matter of fact, he did not. You also suggested that he's not working on his game, when as a matter of fact he is. So you did't so much point out was was factually true as… you know… lie.

No, I said that what his post was not true. As in false. As in a lie. As in "he is a liar because he is lying'. Which he was doing when he could be typing code for his non-function crapware, which he chose not to do because he preferred lying using photoshopped news from a competing product. A competing product, that while simultaneously being one of the biggest jokes in the industry, is still not as big a joke as that shovelware DS is 'working on' that absolutely noone has any kind of interest in whatsoever. Which, to remind you, he did take money for from customers. He just wasnt as succesful in selling his garbage as CR was.

The similarities between DS and CR is that both are full of crap, overhype their own garbage, craptalk 'rivals', have zero perspective and lash out at everyone that doesnt praise them enough. The only difference is that CR has had vastly more success at being an incompetent sack of dirt. The general gaming community fully understands this and just points and laughs at both. Some tiny pockets of fanatics exist on the fringes who somehow managed to put one of these buffoons on a pedestal and cant stand it when he is being ridiculed, all while simultaneously ridiculing the clone on the other side. [haha]

I figured it was kinda obvious why I ignored such poor attempts at defending the mighty DS using poor semantics. The dude posted a lie, people here believed it, I corrected it. Its wonderful to see the usual suspects weasel around it rather than just say "yeah, he is an untrustworthy clown who shouldnt be quoted here." Anyway, this is exactly why this topic is occupied by the same handful of people while I routinely get PMs from people who lurk here, want to tell something but dont feel welcome or comfortable posting here due to the instant crap you get thrown your way when you dont sing with the choir. Keep it up guys, you're doing an amazing job!

So much consternation about DS, your time on /r/dereksmart seems to have fostered an unhealthy addiction into what he's up to and who he is influencing, just let it go man
