>3000 shields on a Corvette?

7A Reinforced Shields + 5 x A Heavy Duty Shield Boosters, no Prismatic shields required.

Alternatively, 7C Reinforced Bi-Weave Shields + 7 X A Heavy Duty Shield Boosters.

But, 7A Reinforced Prismatic Shields + 3 x A Heavy Duty Shield Boosters provides greater build flexibility and does not involve (IMO) excessive stacking of shield boosters.

I think the last option is the one more suited to where I want to be - I'm only running 4 shield boosters and I want the ship to be at least a little multi-role. I'm not sure about the balance between high resistance and high strength. It seems to me that a high resistance is preferable as you always HAVE the resistance no matter your shield level and it takes less time to get the shield back to full strength. (the caveat of it being quicker to deplete off-set by the resistance... I think)

If you ever change your mind, it literally only takes pledging to a power waiting a three and a half weeks and then spending 1-2 hours grinding to get to 750 merits. Then you buy your new PP modules at the end or the month. Easy peasey!

Y'see it's this kind of hint that I love to hear... I'd be running around like a nutter keeping the merits as high as possible.... Mind you.... saying that, I am thinking of finally getting my empire rank. Until last week I was still rated as "outsider" :D I'm now 64% serf!

Have you been using them already?

No, not yet, but I'm going to figure them out. Have you seen Na'Qan's video of him soloing a Corvette in his Viper? They work, but by all reports are very specific, very difficult to use. But they'll be a real problem for the bazzilion mj's crowd once they begin showing up in more plentiful numbers.

so expect those to be nerfed next update.

Everyone wants to be invincible to offset their lack of piloting skills and/or lack of escort implementation.

Nope, but I'll be looking for that and some articulation motors today.
Sounds interesting.

Anybody who is used to being wrapped in a fuzzy cocoon of five trillion mj's of shielding while they casually mow down entire CZ's knowing full well they can just yawn and wake out as the second ring starts to grow just a smidgen pale should give this video a watch.

Wow that's awesome!
Thanks, I'll be on a mission to acquire those soon.

I know, right? Put two of those on an FdL to compliment 3x PA's and go ruin a big three driver's day before they even realize what's going on. Imagine these things in a wing where the fur is really flying and the Vette/Cutter pilot doesn't even know they're being tagged with them due to all the confusion. Good times ahead!

Yeh I used 4,but that was just cos I could, I didn't need to, I like to demoralize the NPCs by restoring my shield before engaging, and I like the heat sink timing mini game, too. Lol.

You chaff or kite? Cos there's no way you're taking less than 2k shield damage in that encounter without kiting or chaffing.

Don't need to do either, have 5700 on my Prismatics with 60% Thermal Resists-sure the kinetic and explosive are low,but doesn't matter vs pve

The lack of capacitor draw is nice too.
Will have to try them on my Courier.

Quick update, got the flechette launchers.
Very interesting indeed.

Observation #1, they could use an arming delay!
I had them blow up in my face quite a few times because I forgot to hold down the trigger.
It does immediate hull and module damage too, hahaha...

Killed an NPC Python, eventually.
That was a learning experience.
Somehow I got all of the modules down to 0% except for the PP and shield generator, and maybe the FSD.

But it still had 3 rings of shields and didn't blow up!
It took at least 10 mins of firing, synthesis, and chasing down the rapidly cooling ship to deal more damage.
At the end I could only hold target lock to about 600m, then the impact of the flechette missiles would push it too far away and off of lock!

Too funny.
Anyhow, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Don't PDTs shoot them down like missiles?

... Of course I say that as I'm reading through this thread here, asking myself "Am I the only guy who actually uses PDTs on all of my ships?"

I just watched the video, good fight - how are they against point defence?

EDIT: just saw your vs python video, doesn't look like PD does much...

No you're not the only one... okay I don't use them on EVERY ship, but most of them have atleast one - my corvette have two reinforced ones.

As for how effective they are against the Flechette Launcher, he made a video vs python https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8aWUqWastU - that python had PD... note "had", he has other videos as well on his channel.

Interesting.
Though I don't understand why the Corvette pilot didn't low wake. Or wasn't able to win the interdiction.

What is this kind of a HUD?
Excuse me I'm on PS4, but all these HUD elements on right and left side are not available on PS4. Is this game internal or another add-on software?

Definitely a weapon to consider? Is this guardian stuff? Please forgive me, I'm still apart from two FSDs completely legacy pre 3.0 engineered and haven't participated in the guardian run so far.

Thanks for sharing.
