Conflict-zone = bounty

So I'm doing the CG killing Cartel ships and I end up (because I'm stubborn) chasing this cobra which really wasn't worth me chasing, especially in my corvette but I did, I took over the fighter because my NPC crew just doesn't cut it and took him out. Now the target was definitely red was shooting me first and I'd got no assault charge etc - but when I killed him it was considered murder!

Seems like a bug but perhaps I'm not allowed to kill them too far from the centre of the conflict zone? Must have been about 40km out by then. Luckily IF was only a couple of jumps away so no harm - but still - an annoyance to say the least.

Anybody else seen this?

Oh and it's really rather annoying that this cobra had it's drives taken out and simple (realistically) didn't slow down but jettison a cannister at top speed and it slows to a standstill - can we get some consistency :)
 
Yeh, if you travel too far you leave the conflict zone, I think you receive a warning when leaving.
Happened to me today.
Headed away from CZ, pointed at station, went afk for a snack, came back and a vulture was pecking my shields. Shredded him and... Bingo! Murder bounty.:D

Yep, did that a looooonnnnnggggg time ago. Not surprised to see that still happens.

I didn't think that happened as close as 40km. I thought it had to be farther. Anyone have an idea of the distance at which you should stop shooting?

I'd love to be able fling canisters at other ships at 700kps with my iCurrier!

The CZs get bugged. I was told I was leaving the CZ whilst in the centre of the CZ and then received a murder bounty for killing a Cartel ship whilst still in the centre and whilst they were marked as an enemy.

Normally that's just annoying but with the new C&P system it led to a several hour timeout from playing the CG. That's some fine progress there FDev.
