Two small RG with Feedback Cascade enough?

With the adjustment to how FC works, would two small overcome Cutter/Corvette SC?

- Feedback Cascade no longer provides a fixed 90% reduction to healing, instead each hit reduces the healing rate by an amount proportional to damage capped at -90% as before. Exact number of hits to reach the cap varies based on size of weapon and shield cell, but will typically be 2-3 (requiring either high skill or multiple railguns) and up to 5 for smaller weapons against size 8 cell banks

With 2 small ones making decent hits but not godlike, you will be able to deal with npc cells. They don't seem to have big ones too often. I run 2 small on my Corvette and find it works just fine. Same with the gunship before it.

This is correct. Two small is the same as one medium - if you are hitting consistently with them it will shut down the SCBs.

It's pretty handy in dealing with the pirate kings in the wing assassination missions, particularly if they are in cutters.

Against NPC Cutters and Corvettes, it seems like it takes roughly one full load of my 2x hammers and 2x sm rails, all feedback, to negate a single SCB charge.

Two x c2 rail strikes negates the full 90% of any size SCB.

Feedback cascade scales in line with damage.

You can see the damage for all rails in my tables here ...

... but basically although we don't know the absolute threshold if we treat the 83.0 damage of 2 x c2 as the approximate threshold for total coverage, it's possible to scale back from there.

Two x c1 will achieve only 46.6 and will not dispense with the full 90% of a c8 SCB. But of course it is possible to hit twice within the spool-up window, meaning that the 93.2 thus dealt would be more than enough. For the same reason it's sometimes possible to negate in full using one c2 rail gun, albeit this is easier with a Hammer due to the faster overall firing cycle.

So to answer your question directly: 2 x c2 and you're golden. Anything else and you have to work.

Thanks for that!
I always appreciate your attention to detail.

I must be experiencing successive charges, (edit)or I guess more likely what I have is just a little overkill.

Remember that it is two c2 HITS to negate 90 percent of the damage. Usually one C2 (or two C1) hardpoints does the trick for that.

My cutter uses a long range laser based build, and carries a wing feedback rail. I hit my opponent with the rail, then go back to the lasers for a second while the rail charges, then back to the rail, keeping the SCBs suppressed.
