Second of all, 90s has no idea what Mobius is.

I know this one;

Lets get back to page one. Why do you think the modes exist 90s? What use do you think the devs were thinking when they desinged them? Remember, they are an original feature of this game so it must have been a minded decision.

I think they started out as a single player/co op style of game. Like Braben said in the beginning.

I dont think they seen mobius as a PG expanding as large as it did. But thats okay, and its respectable. They made accommodations to treat it like a PVE server over time.

Also you have to look at the outlets that were created and failed for the PVP aspect of the game like powerplay. Early early in the game if you go and dig. you will see people loved to PVP in open. Yes there was some complaining but people enjoyed it a lot more pre engineers.

And Powerplay was used a lot more than it is now during that release. And it slowly died off.

So the modes started out great before any of that other stuff was added. PMF's and Colonia. Powerplay ect.

Then stuff got added over time and they tried to provide that outlet because they seen people wanted to PVP.

They also, recently adjusted engineers too for the level playing field like it used to be before Engineers. With a little work you can make out and enjoy your ship.

Problem is all that stuff is mostly sidelined, all those hours of work are put to the side if you want to do the late game activities, no reasons for any defenses. People are veterans at this point and understand how the game works. A NPC will never touch them, as they can dodge interdiction, or even combat log on NPC's.

People are being botted right now within the BGS. And we only know about it because they intentionally put them into open.

So the modes issue never became an issue until objectives were in play. There was some fuss before the game was released because some people seen those objectives. But not like it is now.

Again, started out as a great idea. This is why I laugh at people throwing michael brooks quotes at me from back then. Because the game is completely different now.

And like other games usually catch up the core elements. its just frontier is pretty dang slow. Hopefully their new building will allow for expansion and faster development.

Nope seems to be missing. Almost intentionally. Wonder why that is....

Or was it ever there in the first place? You are the one claiming it was and when looking to verify your information I find that your "evidence" looked to be doctored.

You didn't answer my question. Why do you think the modes exist? Remember that the BGS was also an original part of the game.

Don’t forget about the other holes in your grand plan. Like the fact I’ve been undermining and running the CG in Open on my XB1 and haven’t seen one hollow rectangle or triangle. I have good WiFi. Wonder why I haven’t seen anyone. Oh well, I guess I’ll just undermine unfettered and my wing will just do what we want with no opposition because our enemy is unwilling to counter us using established and balanced mechanics. Oh, and take in a TON of extra cash for no increase in risk.

Objective based PP/BGS manipulations care not for platform, mode, or instance. You can fight all of your enemies regardless. Direct PvP is significantly narrower in scope.

/psst

don't use logic, it confuses and angers him.

Let him enjoy that stick and dead horse, it seems to keep him busy. ;)

You didn't answer my question. Why do you think the modes exist? Remember that the BGS was also an original part of the game.

Yep the modes existed because people wanted the solo part of the game. And others wanted a mutliplayer style of the game. Purely optional. And agreeable at launch.

The BGS back then is different than it is now. People and groups started picking places and calling them home.

As a matter of fact player factions didint exist.

They were purely meant for farming tools, trade and so forth. When people started calling them home. They recognized that and expanded on what was a good idea here. And gave people names and attachments to their homes.

The game evolved into that.

Yes BGS was a core element at launch. But player factions and homes were not.

As that part evolved the rest of it must catch up when new things are added. As with any game. Its what balancing is all about.

People signed up for a solo/co-op. They listened to the people because they really are building the game around the community. Then ya'll got slapped in the face with a multiplayer game because of the additions for the players.

Its like back when Sandro Acknowledged the imbalance of the modes. Offered to change something about them. People threw a fit and said they arent ready for it yet basically.

Now, even maynard agrees there needs to be some sort of change. Even if something is added new over the top of it.

Again, im working with what we have Now. Whats available and what we see.

They could very well add something different for Squadrons and player faction.

You see Sandro drops hints all the time.

Especially when he talks about powerplay, things like "Currently in the live build you can do it" And it had to do with what was going on with cops and how they had to fudge the crime response for players. "Thats what powerplay was meant to be for consensual PVP" As in, you know what you're signing up for. Not oh well if I just pick this mode i get to chose whether I get shot it. That ruined the whole design of it. I think we can all pretty much agree thats why it got ruined and its used for module hopping.

Anyways, BGS was indeed a core element of the game. ANd it was made for the single player and co-op player when the game was first released. But the moment they injected player factions into the game. All that changed.

This is pretty much a timeline of events thats happened here. Its the best way to explain it so people get it.

Most here arent really involved in that stuff. So they really dont care.

Thats okay. Not even worried about it. I have plenty of other outlets I can express this at. I like coming here because I can write all this stuff down because I know they will see it. They read everything.

They know what I am saying. They see their own numbers. And they experience stuff first hand.

Its like the credit exploits thing. They know how much money is being generated, they know how many people take objectives and what builds they use. They know who PVP's and who BGS's What happens, with player groups and so on.

I really dont have to prove anything you guys specifically. I do like back and forth though. It helps to get a point across.

If I had no points to make. If I had no experience like when I first started this game. I wouldnt be able to say any of this stuff. But now I do. And I can show it and talk about it all day.

I just dont rehash a biased piece of information and call it a wall thats now OBSOLETE because of updated game mechanics and changes over the years.

Anyways hope that clears it up.

Not a hole. Easily countered. Restrict the modes on each platform. Meaningful PVP for all around. Our group has an Xbox and Ps4 Division. If I cant get ya, The guys I trained will. Most player groups do this.

This is really not that difficult as you guys make it out to be.

Love how he completely ingored the fact you said you were in Open Rhino as you underminded.

Also, can we get a survey of how many people he "trained"?
Shouldn't take long, I can count to zero really fast, lol

While you guys did this I earned enough for an A rated Corvette. Literally.

90's is wrong...the modes will not change...there will never have equivalence...only equality....and Squadrons will provide a mega ship that will be open to all players...moveable once per week with the update tick...and the PVP people will be more salty than a cheap chip....it will be glorious!

90s doesn’t read anything. Again, he’s too narrow of scope. It would be easier if he just said he wanted more targets in Open instead of trying to justify it. I’ve literally been BGSing against him in Open and haven’t seen a soul. It’s a pretty MASSIVE hole in his plan. Let’s let him continue to live in blissful ignorance. BTW, I great internet and a sweet WiFi. Just imagine how many are not so lucky. Might start running my PC commander in Open to experiment.

There are around 10% of all Elite owners on XBL that have ever pledged to a faction, let alone actively support one. Looks like Open season (pun intended).

I’ve been in Open dude. Read the post next time. Your solution=holes

I love how he references Sandro and others, yet blatantly... and I do mean blatantly ignores anything else they say because taken in full context what he cherry picks doesn't support his conclusion.

I've been in Open today doing passenger missions near Founders on PC.
Seen 2 people, an Anaconda and a Corvette - both docked and afk.

It's "sooooo dangerous" here, I think I should get more money for my risk.

;)

{Edit, I left my 'Vette and Cutter at home - I'm in a T7 passenger bus just ticking over. Making around 20 - 50 million / trip without using board flipping }
