KWS earnings

Well I'm still floating around a haz res in my cutter farming mats for fun. Thought I'd swap out a SCB for a KWS for a crac. Boy, there are some naughty naught NPCs out there.
Grabbing loads of 400k+ bounties (I'll lose 25% on trade in cos I can't be bothered to trapse around each system) - however I'm finding earning rate quite high from this activity. Some are going from 90k is to 200K+ for the same kill.

Farming hasn't been such fun :-D

(oh and 1 more run and I'll be full of some types of mats)

Was it like this pre 3.0?

Actually the kws was better before. Before 3.0 you'd get way more credits. Sometimes over a million cr for 1 kill.

Before 3.0 a bounty on larger ships could easily go from 100k to 300k.

The neat thing about pre-3.0 was that any bounties would simply go into a superpower pool.
For example: If you bounty hunted in an Imperial system, any bounty that came from factions outside that system, would go into either "X amount bounty in Federtion" or "Y amount of bounty in Alliance"

So you might be seeing slightly more value in bounties now, but as you say - we lose 25% on some, because we have to claim them via Interstellar Factors Contact.

Basically, the old system allowed you to save up bounties and claim them as generic bounties in any station that had an Alliance/Federal/Imperial faction.

Yeah, making some welcome extra credits with the KWS.

if you're RESing anyway, it's a no brainer to use the KWS as well.

Killed an elite conda the other day which earned me 625k. Even dangerous FGS are usually about 250k.

(please don't nerf it)

How do ya swap out a SCB for A KWS???, oh I guess you meant Booster... :D

I'm finding (without doing the actual math's) that KWS adds about 20% to mytake from an evenings BH in a HazRes.

There's now far to many bounty locations to even dream of going to all these places.

2 Second Fast scan is the business! I just have the KWS mapped to the fire trigger one.

before 3.0 the big ships were between 50k and 200k for the most part

it will never make you rich, its the most dangerous and least profitable activity, HIGH RISK/LOW REWARD

Best, I ever had was 750,000, pre 3.0. Obtained high level bounties like this doing source and deliver missions and waiting for the mission specific pirates to interdict me, never achieved such high bounties in an RES.

The other night I was bounty hunting in a high RES for a couple of hours and got about 4million credits. which I think was pretty good. A lot of the bounties were from other systems, the list of factions and their associated bounties went off the page although their associated values were generally in the 10,000s. Can't say it is worse or better than pre 3.0, but definitely different.

I rarely say this, but "Pics, or it didn't happen." I've never received more than 600k (rounded to the nearest 100k) for a bounty pre-3.0. That's PVE bounties, from an NPC Anaconda, in ALD space, while being pledged to her level 2.

The payouts in 3.0 are higher than in 2.4 without the KWS. With the KWS, the payouts are very good - you'll still get the large cash in system, plus have extra bounties from other jurisdictions that you need to visit IF to cash in. In short, definitely more money.

Add to that the KWS legitimizing kills, so you don't lose rep with the target's faction (provided it's not a criminal faction) and the KWS has never been better.

I seriously have no idea how you could think it's worse now.

I took my KWS to the engineers. Now it scans in like 2 seconds.

I had 3 KWS scanners in 2.4 that could scan that fast (OC grade) - they're range was reduced to 2.1, 2.0, 1.8 km. It frequently took me 5-10 rolls to get the low time without the range being totally crippled. Now in 3.0, a G5 fast scan is guaranteed (after x number of rolls) to get down to 2s scan times and the range reduction (again, for 0C) is fixed at 2.25 km.

In short, it's WAY better now and easy to get those fast KWS scanners. This is another win for post 3.0 over pre-3.0.

No need to take your KWS to engineers, when you can get a zero seconds wait for nothing:

Bind the secondary trigger to the "-" key on the top right of your keyboard. Put the KWS on the secondary trigger. Use fire-groups on trigger one if you want to use different weapons during the battle. When you arrive at the RES, put a weight on the "-" key. Thereafter, you can forget about the KWS as it collects all the extra bounties automatically while you shoot the bad guys. Every ship you target gets automatically scanned as long as it's in the scanner's range. When you want to leave the RES, you have to remove the weight to put your weapons away.

are you drunk? over a mill wasnt possible before 3.0

It was possible just very very rare. I've only had 2 personally. Seen a few youtube vids with a few over a million cr. But very very rare.
Unless they changed it again since the live stream now you only get the largest single bounty. Where before you got every bounty galaxy wide.
But they may of changed it. Haven't read any patch notes in the last month or so.

Yep, that fits with my experience. Previously the KWS returned around 1.5x more money, that was probably the threshold I think that the KWS was worth using, at 1.2x I don't think it's worth using anymore. I guess that means my ships will have more power and better defences from now. The payout needs to be reviewed if it's going to be a viable module imo.

I was thinking about doing that. What is the scanning angle like with the fast mod.

Where is the risk in farming RES npcs? Did you ever die in a RES to npcs? I didn't and can't remember how many thousands of npcs I killed.
