For You, Johnny, The War is Over

So it's day four of a War and it's clear 'my' MF just won (55% to 20% at today's tick), so I think than means we're in what people term 'ceasefire', i.e. still showing War status, and some CZs still active.

My question is, for the next tick on Friday, what actions will move the Inf for 'my' MF both in the system still at War but also for other systems where it's active. I.e. on tomorrow's tick will it only still be combat related activities that affect Influence or can I start doing other stuff (missions, passengers, trading, exploration, etc) today and those will count in the next tick?

Many thanks
JC

First of all, congratulations on winning. Second, correct assessment that until the War state is completely gone only combat related actions are able to move the %.

So you could continue fighting against the opposition in the remaining CZ until tomorrow to widen the gap more or reverse things and fight against your own MF to close the gap again. Truth to be told we never did the latter, didn't feel right. Another way is to do the BHing to move the % in your other Systems (which you preferably control, otherwise that get's a tad bit complicated).

Once the State shows None you're free to use all possible means of generating % again.

Thank you for the praise and the clarification. I work alone but sense another player(s) is also pushing the same MF. I'd prefer it doesn't expand again (in five systems, controls three, which is enough to manage and keep stable). This one is a low pop system and the War was won before it started using missions and BHing in (Haz RES present) in the three-day pending period, although I did one day of CZ just to push it along. The MF already controlled the system, but the Inf had drifted down in recent months due to factors in other systems it's in, and hence triggered an unexpected (but winnable) War here - winnable just so long as the second strongest MF didn't suddenly achieve some player backing.

I'll wait til today's tick and resume normal activities, usually aiming to keep the MF at ~60%, and the next strongest ~25%, leaving the rest sub 7.5% and not able to get into trouble, in theory.

Making good use of the mechanics I see, nicely done.

And yes, low population Systems are both bane and boon to a MF.

Many thanks, however I'm standing on the shoulders of giants. All I know I learned through this forum, the earlier main BGS thread and more recently this sub-forum. An incredibly knowledgeable and generous group of people.

We're all only cooking with water like everyone else. The knowledge that was gained comes through trial and error, testing and observing.

And as I always like to repeat and what can be seen throughout postings here and in the original thread is that there are many different experiences in regard to the BGS and it's workings.

Nobody can claim to know everything about it all, it's a continuous process and will most likely stay that way. So if you come across something that isn't mentioned anywhere don't be afraid to share or even disagree.

You maybe discovered something new.
