New stations on the way to Sothis...

Maybe I missed some announcement, I don't know but there are plenty new stations in the systems en route to Sothis since today !?

- In Sothis there's a new outpost, a new agricultural station plus a surface port.

- Ceos got two additional stations plus a surface port, too.

- Robigo got one orbital station, an outpost plus a surface port

- Almagest got an orbital station plus a surface port

- Takurua 1 orbital, 1 outpost, 1 surface port

- HIP 8396 2 surface ports, 1 asteroid base

But no new stations in Te Kaha.

How does this change the ceos/sothis mission boards?
It will mean Ceos/Sothis will start providing missions to the new stations that show up.

Stations only generate missions to other systems that are within a certain distance, and at present Ceos and Sothis are so far out in the boonies that they only give missions going back and forth between themselves. So, for example, your entire board at Sothis will no longer be filled with nothing but "Take this doodad to Ceos" missions.

Right now there seems to be no change but I guess that will change in the next days and there will be a wider spread in the target stations

Edit/P.S.: it seems to be that most systems got an agricultural station though maybe resulting in a payment change for food supply missions. We'll see

Edit 2: my fault, the destination spread is already there, delivery missions to all the various stations in Ceos...

I hope I'm wrong but it sounds like a nerf to the nice predictability of the ceos/sothis route. Maybe I'll go out there tonight and check out the impact.

Yes, it's a softer kind of nerf so players can't stack data delivery missions bet the 2 systems only.

What it will kill completely, is the long range missions to haul Sothis poo.

So Sothis brown gold will just be a lingering smell in many CMDR's cargo holds.

I am grinding rank hard. I want the Corvette. I am at 75% at Post Commander, so only 2 ranks to go to Rear Adm. My question is about boom courier and boom data missions, which have been exceptionally productive for me in getting where I am.

Newholm, Sothis Mining and New Dawn are all Federation Unite! stations.

The new stations are all Sirius Corporation stations.

Simple question: Will delivering boom data missions to the new stations still contribute to gaining Federal rank?

Depends on the mission giver and the recipient. Ideally you would want Federation Unite! to Fderation Unite! or another Federation minor faction but you will still gain some rep for FU to SC or SC to FU missions. There is probably a better spot for Federation ranking than Sothis - Ceos. The best know Imperial ranking spot is much faster as it's two systems each with a single outpost and 4 of the 5 faction in each is Imperial.

If the faction offering the missions is aligned with the Federation, yes.

Single station data delivery missions are still possible but require a lot of board rolls, it might not be a good idea to pick Sothis mining/New Dawn anymore as others for me seemed to pop up more regular... also other Sothis stations (Don's inheritance) are listed as destinations for +++++ rep cargo missions from Ceos where as before those missions were only one way from Sothis mining to New Dawn.
