Mission board lag - is it back or is it just me?

It is indeed back to being SLOW. I rarely get complete timeouts, but it does take a rather long time for the lists to appear.

My mission board routinely takes 15+ seconds to load. Only rarely is it not completed, but it does take a while. Always afraid of having lost server connection or something, so I guess it adds a little excitement to my port visits. :)

You're complaining about 10 seconds ? My wait averages around 40 seconds, with typical FD rng logic on whether it will load the whole board or not.

Using my laptop in my flat I have no issues, but if I try and connect to the mission boards over my girlfriends they take ages to load or say incomplete, I think the game is trying to tell me I should not be playing there ;)

Yeah, might want to look into a different Multiplayer activity while there.... ;)

15-40 seconds here in STL, six milliseconds (max) from one of the largest nodes on the planet. Hyper-fast connectivity, on fiber.

It's FD's server, trying to keep up with the load.

Yep. I work for an ISP and I can guarantee you that when I moan about lag and delays it's not my internet that's the problem:

My internet is actually much better than that, but what you're seeing there is the limit of the gigabit ethernet port on my computer.

Makes no difference to the mission boards (of course). Just wanted to shut down people trying to muddy the thread with theories that it's DNS or related to connection speeds.

For what it's worth my home connection is only 20Mb/s and 10ms but 10ms really shouldn't explain delays of 30 seconds or more. I can receive 3000 packets and 75 megabytes of data in that timeframe and I'm pretty sure the mission boards are kilobytes not megabytes.

It's Beige Squadron using ECM, denying that Frontier has a problem. :(

Right. Its not a local client side problem and not a DNS performance problem. But DNS has something to do with it:
If you use a DNS Server which is in a different place on the world as you, the DNS resolves for you access to a different data center in the world, where others of the game servers are hosted.
And so you access a different game server as before via different network connections. This may speed up the things, if this is a game server in a country where actually all ppl. sleeping.
So changing DNS server to query a DNS in an area where actual is early morning, may lead you to accessing less frequent used network wire and less frequent used game server.

I had this proof with a different MMO in the past and command 'NETSTAT -a' - forgotten which game it was.
After changing DNS server, netstat.exe showed me, I was connected to other game servers.

I have been experiencing the same thing on PS4.

I find myself constantly needing to double or triple click in order to select things.

It's not game breaking obviously but it certainly is annoying.
