You guys looking at this?

How many people outside the CG page have noticed the new CGs? One's typical cargo, but the other is taking materials (Heat Conduction Wiring, Chemical Processors, Military Grade Alloys). Never seen that before.

Seems a creative way to get us interested in using the materials trader. I'm in!

Considering every item counts the same, you will not get a single military grade alloy put into the CG. It's better to trade them down, even at the cut-throat rates, than putting them in themselves.

Is it just me or does the CG objective seem ... Treadstoney?
Could be a reason to oppose this CG (as ethically as possible, and for the first time ever) if I wasn't 11KLY away.

Heat conduction wiring and military grade alloys = nope, nope, nope. I need those.

Chemical processors? I guess I could pick those up. They drop quite frequently when I'm bounty hunting.
Frankly, I've been ignoring them completely because I find them so frequently.

Heat conducting wiring is very common. With material traders it should be very easy to throw a thousand at the CG without even crippling your own material supplies.

I've seen this type of CG before.

I thought it was usually to drain the player base of mats just before an addition that will require the mats.

Yep, happened to me. I traded in some material at a CG that I had collected lots of over the months, then suddenly it became rare and required for a new engineer. Won't be fooled again!

They're derived from proto heat radiators, iirc, which are readily farmed in the HGEs of sol. An hour would result in quite a lot of wiring at the traders, as you say, a thousand is eminently doable. I still need them more than they do though. ;)

But lazy people like me only pick up stuff that's directly in my path.

Pfft, finding a material trader - that's hard work. :p

The organizations of the CG's should be asking for the lower tier materials from participating cmdrs, then they can trade it themselves for the higher tier ones through the material traders.

These kind of material CG's (there's been a few), turn up when the forum is about to throw a fit due to CMDRs not being able to find some of these hard to get materials. It's a good way to spread knowledge on the quickest ways to actually acquire the materials.

New idea or not, the materials traders are making this one a snap. It's already well past Tier 7 and will likely be finished within the hour.

I like the comment from another thread about this CG being 'money for old rope'. I've topped out my engineering on every ship I care to own and this... stuff is just sitting collecting metaphorical dust. This seems an easy way to turn old unloved materials into credits.
