TheSisko vs Guardian Weapon BluePrints

I don't know what everyone's talking about. Doing the Guardian sites never gets old. Shooting pylons, chasing skimmers, the hypnotic orb you scan...

No, sorry, can't even type that while keeping a straight face.

I think there's been a small error when Frontier hired their Game Designers.

An intern tasked to type and publish the File made a small typo. The published Text simply read Grind Designer instead of Game Designer.
The rest is history...

PS.
Not touching any of that Grind-walled junk. Opted straight out of that fake pseudo-content. Robotic & grindy Self-mutilation != Entertainment, at least in my books.

PPS.
Game is seriously headed into the perfect pitch to become a F2P with P2W components to bypass the grind.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see the announced "Premium Content" later in V3 to be... Loot Boxes and FastPath Options straight from the Store.
We're basically already there, it just needs the P2W implemented. The boring Grind-walls are definitely done & ready for it.

Cool! That was a lot of fun to figure out, just myself and another random clueless CMDR working together.

Cool! Different site this time. Feeling like I know how this works now.

Hears on the grapevine that I need a dozen+ of these things

Well, I could start menu logging (yuck) and grinding (yuck). Or i could avoid both but look up all eliible sites online and do them once each. (Still, yuck). or I could spend the next 30 hours exploring scattered dark blue dots on the galaxy map until I happen across enough of the right sort of site. (...seriously?)

Or I could just forget about it and resign myself to not having guardian modules. Apparently I'm going to go with that one.

I'll echo the dissatisfaction. The actual puzzle is really fun. Having to do it a bunch of times is not. Worst of all, the amount of time it takes to get any guardian stuff "naturally" (meaning without minor exploits like re-logging and without using out-of-game resources to find all eligible sites) is insane.

Yeah, I dodged a bullet there. At least you've (hopefully) got the refund for wasted materials.

Nah I got the worst of both worlds because they removed it just as I had finished (or was finishing, ie on the last run) grinding. So not only do I not have the module I was grinding for, even in a broken state, I can't even spend the "refund" on a different module because then I won't be able to buy the thing when it finally get released.

I'm just hoping 3.1 comes soon because I really wanted it (which is why I went against my better judgment and grinded for it in the first place).

If it turned out that the Guardian fragments were actually part of some kind of covert study into human's willingness to repeat tedious tasks I wouldn't be at all surprised.

... aand this is why I only have the gauss cannon unlocked among all the guardian stuff.
Even though it greatly pains my collector's heart not to have all the goodies.

Frontier? You have to do better than this for game design. I don't mind working for kit in games, as long as its fun. After Run #4.....I dunno what it was but it wasn't fun.

I was doing 2 runs per night, and then last night I worked by backside off had fun and collected the final 5 blueprints. I won't be collecting more Guardians blueprints for a long while, not until my Grind Juice is replenished. Maybe Frontier will reduce the grind by then? We can only hope.

Yeah the response from the ED community has been pretty much universal regarding this new grind. Hopefully Frontier has a plan up their sleeve for the 3.1 update to fix this and make it more fun to do.

I am going to wait and see what FD does before I develop such a deep personal relationship with the pylons.

They'll fix this grind given enough public flak about it.

They will however ignore all other grinds that are not getting any air time right now.

I'd be more worried about their "plan" to fix it. Frontier's ideas of what less grind is supposed to mean, appears to be much different than what the community thinks it's supposed to mean. Sandro did say, our time is important to Frontier. Of course, that could be taken a number of ways too. Be careful what you wish for.
