I've been done!

3.00GBP for a shiny new paint job that after only 3 months looks like this!

Should I ask for my money back?

From photobucket? Definitely!

In the event this thread is not intended as a joke head to advanced maintenance and pay to repair the paint job.

Because you just know someone one will come in here ranting at Frontier, and other knuckle heads will not know this is a thing. Danger Will Robinson.

I'm assuming that your paint job has gained that "scoured" look. As I consider my primary role to be an explorer in Elite, I see that ship scouring as a badge of honour. It shows that you have traveled a fair distance, millions of light seconds in supercruise.

If you want it to be shiny and new, go to Advanced Maintenance in the station menu and repair your paint job there. While you're at it, you can repair your hull integrity as well. Paint and integrity are 2 parameters that auto-repair doesn't touch. You have to do then manually.

Buy a paint job, go directly to Hutton Orbital and dock. Now go to external camera mode and admire your distressed paint job. Seriously, complaining about a knackered paint job. I really hope this thread is for the lolz.

Dont suppose ye know that ye have to repair the paintjob now and then? Just guessing here what with the picture of photobucket being the only clue...

This kind of grinds my gears from a logic standpoint... lets forget for a moment that your ship has shields, which should repel all abrasive materials in space...

How do our ships have paint wear and tear in supercruise? when our ships are essentially standing still in a bubble of normal space that is being warped around it. see Alcubierre drive

Micro variables .. otherwise known as grit in a warp bubble?

Like being inside a highly energetic plastic bag?

Most likely. Definitely. Perhaps.

This^^ kind of thing is the cause of my only real love/hate feelings about ED. It's such a mix of logical, well-thought-out, plausible (or actual) scientific stuff mixed up with a whole bunch of absolute mind-boggling crazy, magic, hand-wavey stuff that contradicts itself.

I still play it though ...I like space ships.

Faster than light is basically impossible too. I still reckon grit in a plastic bag - imagine how much energy to warp the space in contact with your hull - would have a bad effect on your paint. (Not TJ's obviously).
