Notoriety not dropping at all

Started last night about 9pm on a notoriety of 3 and on a mission to get it cleaned at an IF, so spent the next 5 hours doing planetary mining, uss hunting and just generally flying off into the great black yonder with the controls jammed on so the game wouldnt disconnect me while actually doing more than staring at the screen.

5 hours, didnt so much as fire a single bullet, ran away from all interdictions whether they wanted or not...2 in the morning and notoriety only dropped a single point.

Ok...went to bed starting to feel just a bit on the miffed side...didnt create a thread in the wee hours and thought Ill see what happens the next day.

After dropping off the wee lady at school, logged in...nope notoriety still at 2. Now approaching lunchtime and notoriety has dropped another point down to one. So I guess by sunday, I might actually be able to do something at this rate.

So to summarize...I was having fun with the new system...now Im not and I gotta say, Im not seeing a great future with this notoriety thing. What am I doing wrong? Why is it not dropping even though Im being butter wouldnt melt goody two shoes? Exactly how long should I expect it to drop? Is this working as intended?

Cos if it is...hmm...

I know it's not cool but others have reported great success at just leaving their computers floating along in normal space over night... somewhere quiet I guess..

That worked before but its not working now, and I include a total of 7 hours total playtime...last I checked it was still on one. At this minute Ive just rage logged and dont have the patience to log back in again. I must be doing something wrong but fer the life of me cant figure out what, and Ive just about had enough.

I used to do that in the past...bugs went unfixed and unexplained fer months so I dont do that anymore as that too is a waste of time.

Did you logout/login to see if it resets? I do that to get to zero. I also found docked at a station still counts down.

Several times...no effect. Docked fer an hour...no effect. Flying in random circles...no effect. Mining in the srv fer two hours solid...no effect, although I did get a good run on 30 or so units of polonium which was the highlight of my evening truth be told.

So it doesnt appear to matter what I do or how long it takes...notoriety simply is not dropping. Can anyone tell me how long its actually supposed to take? Cos if this is genuinely bugged, then this alone will help me make up my mind what game I wont be playing this weekend...thats how fed up I am right now ^

I understand and that's your choice. Although dropping info about this as bug report doesn't take much time and you don't have to enter log details or anything else. Worth the shot I think.

If this is yet another bug then genuinely...Ill be too fed up to bother. Its the not knowing part that has me wound up so badly because Im not sure what to do next. Do I play and just somehow tolerate it? Nah...not my thing...if its a bug then it will be the straw that does bad things to the camels back fer me...Ive just about had enough and Im beginning to struggle with this game if this is the direction its gonna take ^

Im already at the point where I simply logged out in disgust and I really cant be bothered logging in again because Ive already ddne that several times and no joy. Now, I just wanna know if Ive been playing with a bug fer 7 hours or if Im doing something wrong. Its the not knowing part that has me foaming at the mouth here ^

The mining in SRV, from all posts I have read it appears you need to be in your ship. Whether this is intended or not I don't know, I don't do notoriety, I just read about it!

Knowing how frontier really respects our time, this wouldnt actually surprise me, because it sounds exactly like the sorta thing they would do now I sit and think about it. Thats half the question answered if its true because I spent half the night in the srv...I love the way this is all explained in the game...inspiring stuff really ^

Haven't played in ages so I might be just talking garbage, but did you jump to a different system at all while waiting for your Notoriety to drop?

There's a mention about the Notoriety only updating the status on highwake, maybe the behaviour (or a bug affecting it) is that each point dropped requires a highwake for it to register?

Already covered that...no difference. The system where the IF is has only one landable, and it didnt have anything what I actually needed so I went elsewhere and roamed around a little in boredom that got steadily worse.

Ill log in later and see what the craic is then...I just dont have the patience right now because all I can think about is the past 7 hours being a waste of time. Im guessing bug at this point which saddens me greatly...fer reasons I cant even begin to talk about yet...

If it hasnt changed by later on, then Ill just find something else to play this weekend...already struggling with the cash nerfs, this is the final nail just awaiting that last thump. Apologies if Im salty today but Im really not in the mood fer smiles today ^
