HazRez sites should be a race to actually protect the miners, while taking calculated risks yourself.

You mean - *cough* - some actually more involved gameplay than simply turning up to a designated area where Wanted's just turn up (spawn) for no other reason than commit suicide on your lasers? After 3-4 years? Are you mad!

There's far more important things to assign development time to like Generation Ships, CQC, Megaship "gameplay", Thargoid Bases, Guardian Bases, Multicrew.


Bounty Hunting sounds to deep and meaningful and exciting... Now go to a HAZRES and play the mini-game specifically created to give that role about the only meaning it has...

What you do is bring cargo. 10 t of gold or whatever. This amplifies the spawn 2 fold. Sometimes i have to fight 5 at once cause more keep spawning in an scan me before I can finish the fight I'm in.

No cargo... Sometimes 1 pirate then no more show.

Either I can't role play to the required degree to overlook the paper thinness of it after all this time.

Or, I can't overlook the paper thinness of it given other dust collectors have had sizeable developments allocated to them.

And especially with the supposed core gameplay depth eluded to at kickstarter.

So yes... I guess you're right.

ps: Hazres broke (quite literally for me) about 2 years ago... I was in one, and suddendly the curtains dropped, the smoke and mirrors blew away, and all I was left with was the vision of the paper thin mini-game mechanic it was. I realised I could sit there vaporising more metal than was in the entire galaxy, and yet the waves of pointless suicidal ships would continue to spawn...


ps: Add to this now with Engineers it's now even more gamey with the fact you can wipe out wave after wave after wave in your super duper ship.

You bet is dead. They even managed to completely remove all the HAZ RES from our faction home system. And it was one of the main reasons we selected that system.

Its gotten to the point where I carry a single piece of gold everywhere I go in the hope the near constant interdictions these days make up the difference...it doesnt and hazrez have been a bit meh since 3.0...the occasional shiny but just bits n bobs tbh...lacking that little something...

You bet is dead. They even managed to completely remove all the HAZ RES from our faction home system. And it was one of the main reasons we selected that system.

This. I had identified a couple of Anarchy systems with Haz Res before 3.0 in case we needed to relocate. I went back to one yesterday and the Haz res had gone :(

Shame because it was a brown dwarf with ice rings, really pretty location.

1t isn't enough but carry more than 80k value and I get pirate attention at 1\4 of the systems i pass through
Comprised nav beacons will give 5+ pirates on entering
And its a good place for the elite trophy. Nearly 1\3 npcs there often are Elite

Its the new Crime and Punishment system. The NPCs are way too afraid of incurring huge bounties because they can't suicidewinder themselves anymore. Besides ... all the wings of Elite Anaconda NPCs have switched to Mobius.

Nope, not in Mobius HazRes either, pretty quiet.
 
I saw the ticket you submitted. I'm also doing well in Haz REZ even around the starting systems near ERANIN. Combat Master in a Chieftain I get the usual small fighters but also Asp, FAS, FGS, FDL, DBX, Clipper and Python showing up consistently with an occasional Anaconda. No Corvettes or Cutters. 90 percent were Dangerous or higher. I harvest multiple systems instead of staying in one all the time and have an Interstellar Factor close by when I mess up.

On a second ED account going to the same areas in a Cobra Mk III I get the same results. Maybe it is a case of over-farming the sites and the BGS is responding. Just a guess.

The fact you can log out, then back in resetting the instance, often getting entirely different spawns puts paid to that idea. A common approach is to keep exiting the instance until you get larger ships spawning. Once you get an instance where ships like conda spawn at the outset, often they will continue to appear for as long as you remain. The BGS may well be part of the mechanic for spawning ships in haz res, but rng seems to play a more dominant role.
 
Mediocrity? Using RESes.

In frontiers own words, haz res were introduced to pose a challenge to wings, and they are a useful environment to complete pirate bounty hunting missions for local factions. The fact they do not work as advertised by Frontier is the issue, and of late their spawns have been particularly lackluster. While I use the word "challenge" loosely, when they do spawn larger wings of ships like three elite anaconda, only wing assassination and goid USS pose a greater challenge. And many feel this should be the sort of content to expect along with cutters and corvette wings every time players enter haz res.

It's not just haz res that have been nerfed but high res 's too, I spent all night yesterday scanning useless clean ships and powerplay NPC's for a measly 600k in bounties.

I've never seen an NPC in a cutter. I have seem them in corvettes, especially assassination missions.

Yes, I forgot about refreshing the RNG in a Haz REZ. I was having too much fun! I use it all the time in other game moments especially in an SRV prospecting. :)
