Other characters and no blood and gore

So I was reading an article the other day that someone here posted a link to and I found these interesting segments from the article.

"When we asked whether any other characters from the Jurassic films will be present, Brookes told us "[they're] not allowed to comment on that at the moment".

I wonder what other characters from the movies are in the game? Obviously not wanting to talk about it means there are other characters involved. Could this possibly be linked to Nublar and the theory that the island will allow us to play the 1993 JP? Richard Attenburough is no longer alive so maybe they found someone to be a stand in for the voice of John Hammond like the creators of JPOG did?

"The animators have avoided adding too much blood and gore in the fighting animations too. Dinosaurs can cause death and destruction but according to Ilsley it's "not glorified" and therefore still suitable for a younger audience."

So this just clarifies what we all knew. Frontier is going for a kid friendly rating, Michael Brookes said a Teen rating in one interview. So I guess we can't expect much blood except from what we have seen. Maybe they will allow us to have a DLC that gives the game some more substantial blood and gore. But I think any kind of real bloody kills in the game won't happen, in the base game at least.

Here is the article.

Please, don't let it be the Kirby's! :D

Could be linked to Nublar but also to characters from the The lost world.
The fact they keep it a secret does mean it's something big and game changing.

No blood or gore, I can live with it but I would love it if they made a dlc to include it.

I expected this, but I'm still disappointed. Looking at how many people want a blood and gore option I think they should at least offer it as a paid DLC. If not then we have to pray to the modding gods.

Did Universal force this or Frontier themselves?

I think it might have been a decision made by Frontier cause they want their game to reach a wider audience. I have never seen anyone not buy a game for their kid cause of the rating. I know 12 year olds that play GTA 5. The game is rated M 17+.

The game can easily manage a Teen rating while giving us some blood in kills so they don't look so weird.

I can handle the lack of blood and gore. But I still wish we had an option or something. So all we will get is some light red sprays of blood like we saw in the gameplay reveal videos.

As far as the Characters I don't know who they could be. But I can't wait to find out.

Thanks for the article!

That article led me to checkout some footage from Zoo Tycoon (2013). I was stunned looking at it!

It seems to me that the First person view , Third Person control , Interactions, Ability to hop in vehicles are pretty much comparable to that of GTA. I was told earlier that such kind of first person experience is well beyond Frontier capabilities. Can someone please explain to me what I'm missing here?

Wouldn't it be awesome if JWE has the GTA-type experience as in Zoo Tycoon? In fact, I think it is kind of mandatory here!

They have first person view in all their rides in Planet Coaster and Rollercoaster tycoon 3.

A GTA-type experience is maybe a little to far fetched but we can fly the chopper and ride the jeep and shoot the dinosaurs with tranquilizers and medicine.

This is contradicting to the info we got from the youtuber BestInSlots concerning blood, so i wouldn't write it off just yet.

Not really. I have seen blood when the Ceratosaurus was fighting the Triceratops. But it wasn't much and it was barely visible. I think they mean it won't look like a slaughter house. There will be blood but it won't be really noticeable.

Your post clearly states "no blood" so i guess that was just clickbait then...

I figured people would understand what blood and gore meant. We won't be seeing Doom levels of blood and gore. But reading the quote I provided from the article says the blood will be there. It just won't be really visible. As in we won't be seeing much of it.

I don't think any Jurassic park/world game or film would benefit from blood and gore. Yes you see dead animals and some blood in the films and in JPOG you saw the carnivores tearing meat from their kills but it wasn't full of gibs and guts why should it be? Secondly I hope they add some of the original characters back to this game my most wanted being Dr Alan Grant but I think any of the original JP characters would do.

I agree, I really don;t think that adding blood and gore will do much to add to the game. I would love to see Grant come back or Dr Sattler

I don't want that level of gore either. But seeing a raptor with it's mouth moving with nothing in it is strange. Not even a little red bloody wet looking piece of goat meat. I would like to see a little more blood though like maybe on the ground and some on the Dinosaurs jaws/face area. But I guess that's too much to hope fore. At least when the Ceratosaurus ate the scientist you could hear crunching sounds.

I'd wager mods are our best hope in regards to this, if/when it gains support from the devs. I agree though, it is strange to see nothing in a carnivores mouth when eating. I would accept something akin to JPOG's level of gore, where it wasn't really detailed, just looked like the carnivore was eating a nice healthy slab of meat. Just beef (ha) up the graphics and maybe add some dripping and I'd be just fine with that.

I remember watching the Rex in JPOG eat. It would swallow the smaller Dinosaurs and goat whole after shaking it a bit. But when it came to larger prey it would tear off little strips of red meat and yes there would little droplets of blood.

Exactly! I don’t want to point out names here but someones did say “it takes years” to implement.

Perhaps, they misunderstood what I’m saying – I say movement control, vehicle control, FPS, hides, interacts with objects, using tools - exactly the things Frontier had done in Zoo Tycoon (2013). I did mention GTA but I didn’t say it has to be as good as it (In fact, I just realized that Frontier is actually pretty close to it - excluding sophisticated machine guns, shooter and explosive stuffs). I just mean that kind of open-world, open-option direction – if you get what I mean.

I know this is a park management game but I don’t think anything is gonna hurt by implementing something that had been done years ago. It might not work out in Zoo Tycoon but I think it will certainly work in this case because dinosaurs are obviously ‘thousand-fold’ more dangerous/larger than living animals. It would be a shame if we are stripped from experiencing the park from FPS view.

PCMR4Life, sorry for using your post here. (This thing is very important to me)

Edited: In short, this is all I asked for:- (as a visitor/journalist/security officer/janitor/stuffs like that...including some sort of basic crisis management interactions but not too far-fetched)
