Tricked enemy pilot to drop shields!

This is the curse of pvp videomakers in Elite : Dangerous

- make a video showing destruction of a lower ranked CMDR / semi newbie --> get called names
- make a video showing destruction of experienced / engineered CMDR --> video is 30 min long and nobody will watch it to the end

Totally agree, I'll upload a video of me griefing an asteroid, watch the forum deads, carebears, and wanna shrinks, do an analysis on my real life personality.

The very definition of basic psychology. So basic, it's considered common knowledge...but you could even read it up on Wikipedia if you still need to fill in a few blanks.
A little education won't hurt. You can do it :)

Wow, you're a psychologist, too? Outstanding! I need a diagnosis on a condition that I suffer from, maybe you can help: instead of flowers on my piano, I greatly prefer tulips on my organ. Is there any hope for me?

Power play kill? I assume here? Once again showing how much i need them guns...they are pretty dope. would like to see these being used on higher tier CMDRS see how they fair then. This CMDR was obviously not prepared or ready for what happens. I admit they tried and a lesson was learned here for them and honestly a skilled courier pilot like yourself they where no match in that T10.

Always enjoy your videos cmdr Na`Qan o7

Fascinating. It will take years of expensive therapy and harsh medication, but eventually you should be able to live independently and even hold down a part-time job. Do you mind if I use you as a case study in the book I'm writing?

What was the screen overlay on the OP's cockpit? Looked interesting.

Oh, the T-10 was wanted so all's fair :)

CORRECTION: Seemed to "hostile" in the first system (first interdiction) and "lawless" in the second system (second interdiction).

My initial reaction: How exactly was that pilot an "enemy"?

I shouldn't take the bate and react at all. I'm weak, but in good company.

I'm assuming the T10 player was pledged to a Power Play faction? If that's the case then he's fair game. The game literally tells you, upon pledging to a PP faction, that you'll become a target for no other reason than being in an opposing faction.

It's still pretty obnoxious in my opinion, but the T10 player should expect such actions if he flies in Open openly wearing a PP faction's colours.

TBH I have had been a part of the princess's faction for months now and literally only like 2 people have ever fought me for it (like said that i was imperial scum)

If you're enemies in powerplay you're a valid target even if all you were doing was mining.

That said he was drifting and waiting for death anyway. He would have needed to reboot regardless unless he was planning on being cheeky and legitimately menu logging.

Well I repped Qan, for another great vid and wasn't gonna comment, but looking at some of the aggressive posting against the guy feel I must add my voice.

Qan has been doing vids and PP based stuff for ages and is one of the least 'greifor' type players I've encountered, he generally represents the good side of pvp in my opinion. He never enters the normal 'carebear' bashing posts and has always given excellent feedback for pvp balance at update time.

TLDR; Qan's a good guy and those who cant see it really need a break from the forum/game.

I too am really disappointed by the criticism levelled at Cmdr Na'Qan.

I had thought that animosity towards PvP on this forum was really just reserved for random murder-hobo salt-mining.

It appears that I was naive. The template now is to accuse a committed Powerplayer of being a random murder-hobo salt-miner, merely a disguised one.

Such accusations of malign motives cannot be completely answered or disproved. They permit the accuser free reign - unfairly.

All I can say is that we Powerplayers are playing a nice game. Some of us (such as myself and Na'Qan) have been playing it since the first day, June 2015. And we are no more engaged in an unpleasant activity than a Chess player, a Risk player or your local table tennis club members.

Thankfully, Frontier understands us and helps us.

The only people who don't understand are those who don't take part at all, or a small minority (even more naive than I am) who wrongly assume that they are entitled to pledge to one of 11 corrupt megalomaniacs and fly in their marked colours in Open, without risk of encountering combat from their fellow combatants.

That would entirely depend on which organ we are talking about . . . liver? Kidney? gall bladder? ;)

*makes a dash for the thread exit* Just tryin' (and, by the looks on the faces of the onlookers, miserably failing) to introduce some levity into this thread . . . *dodges plasma bolts* "Goodness gracious me!" *Gets nailed to the wall by railgun munitions* THAAAANKS, that was my second-best jacket . . .

This sounds dangerously close to making sense.

I got jumped by OP and two wing mates the other day while I was (stupidly) collecting HGE mats in a "hot" system. Totally caught me by surprise and I didn't show superior flight skills :) I wasn't in a trader or explorer build but in a pvp FdL. I actually learned something new and very intriguing (flechette tactics). I don't get why the guy is getting so much heat for posting legit combat tactics. Here's what I say: thanks for sharing, cmdr!

+1 I have learnt quite a lot from him, and I usually avoid PvP vids because it sounds like a bunch of 11yr old's making a GTA video.

Just chiming in to add my support to Cmdr Na'Qan.

I always smile when I see a new post of his has been added, as I will probably stand to learn something.

Thank you Cmdr Na'Qan, sorry you've had to endure such silliness.

That said, when it comes to pointing fingers about supposed psychological pathologies, over behaviour in a video game, a certain Danish saying comes to mind:

Den som først er fisen var,
den er fisens rette far.

Fly dangerous Cmdrs.
