What you are describing is different than having no recourse, or being at a disadvantage. Your describing a limited occasional set back, rather than a built in method of countering BGS stuffs. You're implying that you could control all BGS activity, even in an open-only structure, with direct combat. That just isn't so. This has been recognized by FD, and everything has been designed to be filtered through the BGS/PP UI.
How do you answer for Player Groups that don't favor PvP? Just because yours may, they have to? How do you answer for an NPC faction, backed by unorganized Commanders, from expanding into a system your group claims? How do you stop nonaligned Commanders from influencing, for good or bad, your Player Group Associated Faction? This is all accounted for through the BGS. You can track influence and react accordingly.
My basic question always comes down to; why should your personal gamer ethics be forced on me? You and your group have exactly the same opportunity to gain influence as any other player. That is perfect balance. You want to limit that to favor your preferred play style. You offer no more facts than I do. You even contrive supposed facts to bolster your argument.
I simply explain the logic, and spirit in which FD have developed this game. Three modes in order to bring as many different player types to the game. PvP players are welcome. PvP players are no welcomed to distort the intentions of the game's design, to gather more targets.
Ive been through all of these question with you before. Im not about to go through it all again. If you dont get it the first 50 times. Youre not gonna get it the 51st time.
I dont know if you're doing this intentionally(which I believe you are) Because I dont believe someone to actually be this inept.
If you are involved in PVP, You should be involved in all of it. Not some of it because its convenient not to be defended against.
Its your fault you dont understand this. Not mine.
Otherwise, the game can stay just like it is now. And the only meaning PVP has if griefing and ganking.
Im trying to give it structure. You're whining because if that structure happens. You're going to have to play a part of the game you dont want to. Well then maybe you shouldnt be attacking other player factions to begin with. And you'll never have to worry about it. And if you get attacked, go out and do your best to defend against it.
So Ill ask you people.
Keep griefing and ganking in the game?
OR give PVP definition by restricting adversarial play to the SAME PLAYING-FIELD. A balanced one. A level one. With understanding.
As long as there is an option to remove yourself from it. While you get to attack another player group.
There will only be griefing and ganking.
And if you get your way. My goal is to create the most toxic environment until it changes.
I will destroy everything in my path in open play...
Wait hang on, this already happens from people other than me.
Because thats all there is in this game.
You SHOULD NEVER have to ask the Developer of a game for simple attack and defend mechanics in a game where PVP is enabled. EVER.
