Wing assassination missions

When 3.0 came out one of the 1st things my friends and I tried out is wing assassination missions in our shinny new chieftains.
We jumped into system, honked, and we told to go to planet x.
Upon arrival I get a blue mission USS (just like in solo assassination missions) my friends cant see it, then they got their own blue mission uss, we all jump in and realise we are in different instances.
We bail out and try again, this time its obvious that we have individual blue mission USSs in different locations. We give up and go to explore other new things in 3.0
Last night we though we revisit wing assassination missions as I had read about people doing them with no apparent problems.
We jump into system, I honk ... nothing, a friend suggests scanning the nav beacon, he goes of to scan and by chance we all follow him and jump in to the nav beacon.
Immediately shouts of "he's here!!" ring out across the coms!
After a very chaotic fight [ made even more chaotic because not all of the terrorists were wanted (despite the fact they were shooting us) and when I shot them the local law enforcement turned on me!]
we killed the target and returned home.
We then took another one and it was exactly the same format!

Is this what all wing assassination missions are like now?

And if so is it a short term fix until they sort out the instancing or a permanent fix?

Assassination missions can be done in multiple ways - find guy in supercruise, he will or you will interdict, find guy in some other POI, find guy in specific POI revealed by nav beacon scan and then coming close to planet.

Also I didn't get what's wrong with what you describe :)

Apologies if this is an obvious question, but were you guys winged up? You should really have all dropped in on the same instance, and if I am not mistaken, even winging up is not enough, you need to be invited to (and accept) a wing mission invitation. I only know because I was asked to join one and even after winging up I was not "part" of the mission until I accepted the wing mission invite in the comms panel.

I could be wrong but I think you talking about solo assassination mission

Yes we were all in wing and yes we all had the mission

They are a bit unfinished.
And there is a thread with same name already =).

Yeah, but that was just after they were launched, I am wondering if they have changed it and made them all at nav beacons

Soloed many wing assassination but never done that in a wing. But I think the nav lock and wing beacon will help you if you guys want to be a same instance.

And if your target shows clean to your, a KMS sometime may help.

I had some trouble with these too, but turning on wing beacons seemed to fix it. Basically we'd follow the first one of us that dropped into the mission specific USS. With Wing Beacons on it worked, without it, not. They are good fun in a wing...

Wouldnt make any difference, the mechanics of how wing missions work is exactly the same as solo...theres just more targets to shoot at being the only real difference. If honking doesnt work...which is hasnt since 3.0 dropped...then scan the nav beacon to get the mission poi.

Solo and wing are the exact same in that respect. Can do them solo but only in one the big 3...Ive tried in the cheif and ate rebuy so now I dont try using small ships on wing missions ^

I solo them with ease in my engineered Vulture. Even when the leader is flying a Vette, its no big deal to solo.

I only started doing combat 3 months ago and I was harmless fer two whole years...so in this respect, Im playing catchup so its a big deal fer me even if its easy fer you ^

Good :) I am no special pilot in anyway. Engineered a vulture to see how good it could get. I just go for the leader directly. With two frags one incendiary and one corrosive double shot.
Its jsut that engineering makes the ship really powerfull.

Good luck CMDR.
