Hello commanders

Is it just me or is anyone finding that things don't really seem that dangerous at the moment?

Now I have a basic grasp of the controls (and a desk full of joysticks/headtracking gear) I'm finding it quite rare to be even slightly perturbed when playing.

It seems that all situations can simply be dealt with by hitting f/a off, then boost, then fsd, no matter what the situation or circumstances.

It would be nice if different exit strategies would be needed for differing situations, rather than a one-size-fits-all runaway tactic. Having to select the right type of avoidance tactic when being interdicted would maybe increase the danger factor, instead of performing actions without having to think first?

I know more and differing things are bound to come, I just hope that they won't be as easy to deal with as most of the encounters are at the moment.

Safe dockings to you all

Beta, dude. That's not to say you're wrong, it is a bit of a cakewalk atm, but the interdictions are placeholder and there is no PC interdiction at all.

Running away IS a time honoured Elite tactic, but I'd expect there to be much more persistent NPC threats in the future that will call for more varied response. Think about future plans for ship upgrades, FSD inhibitors etc.

Can't wait.

yea, still a lot to be done on that score, anarchy systems need to be a LOT more dangerous, they should be systems that you need to fight your way in to. at the moment i can get in and out in an unarmed hauler - in the release i shouldn't be able to last through one interdiction unless its got a military grade hull at the very least.

personally i think the Dev's are being nice to us by not implementing the full government types model yet, until we have a bit easier access to info on systems there would be an awful lot of CMDR's blundering into anarchy planets and not living to regret it.

I'd also hope that the easy escape tactics remain viable for at least as long as one is dawdling around with a starter ship or close to it.

For now, if you want a bit of excitement you can just turn around and fight the interdictors. While most of them are pretty lame, there are some interesting encounters.
