Newcomer / Intro Dav's Hope

Hi Guys .
At the risk of sounding like a noob, I need a little help here.
I decided to head for Dav's Hope in the hope (haha) of finding some mats.
I arrived at Hyades Sector DR-V c2-23, Planet A5 and have been orbiting the planet trying to find it.
Planet Map shows nothing, Navigation Tab shows nothing under A5.
In the end I had no option but to land at Asire base on C3.
I'm here trying to work out my next move.
Has Dav's hope vanished?

You need coordinates to find it the 1st time. Once you have scanned all 6 data points, it will be marked on your map for future visits

Nah, i've been there yesterday. It is a bit tricky to find because it doesn't show up in the Navigation Panel (on purpose, i guess) when players first for the first time. You have to head to the coordinates 44.818 / -31.389 navigating by lattitude and longitude shown in your HUD while in orbital flight. Try to get there as near as possible and approach in normal flight until you see the base on the surface.

By scanning its data points from your SRV you create a Navigation Panel entry that helps when you visit again.

If you've never navigated by coordinates before this video may help.

The coordinates are those decimal numbers under the altitude.

BTW ... IF I find it, and land ok... am I able to log out and continue to search the next day or so, or will the ship run out of oxygen if not docked at a station?

You can go on holidays for a month if you wish. Once you're logged out, time stops. You can log out in SRV if you wish. Something to keep in mind if you ever run out of fuel and need to wait for a Fuel Rat longer than your oxygen will last.

Just be weary of open play over there, alot of so called players like to try to blow your ship up while your in your srv, just make sure to send you ship away once you undock from the ship in your srv.

Newcomer / Intro - Looking for Chemical Manipulators

I found the Naphtha Class Tanker in the Arinack system, but there is no materials floating around the outside of it like I saw in a video about getting Chemical Manipulators. I tried exiting and going into Solo Play, but that didn't do anything. What should I do?

You won't run out of oxygen until life support is shut down or runs out of power/fuel, you will run out of fuel if you leave yourself logged in in space for a few hours with the engines off it ought to be longer on a planet. As mentioned elsewhere you will be fine if logged out to at least the main menu.

I thought it would be tedious, requiring visual sighting but I was flying around and quite a way off when I looked at the Nav panel and Dav's Hope appeared. I think I was about 60km away when I saw it in the Nav panel.
