Deluxe Edition

Like most people have already said, it costs more to make the 5 dinos than what they're selling them for.

I think it would be wise to set labels aside for a moment and look at the real meat of the issue. Ignore the words "deluxe edition" and look what you have. JWE is marketed as a triple A game. The usual price of triple A games these days is $60, the same price the so called deluxe edition is set to, while the standard edition is set at an unusual $55 dollars. If you put labels aside, what you really have here is a game with reduced content at a reduced price (standard) and a game with all the launch content at the normal full price of a triple A game (deluxe edition). People spend more than a dollar for cosmetic skins that add no gameplay value. $5 for five different, fully animated dinosaurs with their own AI? One might even call you stingy for being reluctant to buy that, especially when the standard edition in reality is just a reduced price.

Also, Suchomimus. No way I'm letting that dino slip through my fingers at launch lol.

That's an excellent way of looking at it. I wasn't going to pass up the 5 extra Dinosaurs either.

Woke up this morning and finally got it. Deluxe is not something for us! It's frontier doing what they know and doing something similar to what they have with Elites deluxe edition. Which is just a joke.. it's just the game and expansion dlc because the cosmetic stuff is useless.

My mistake. Still say zero effort. I'm willing to pay for effort. If garage based indie devs put more effort into what they're making I'm not going to reward not even trying by a 300 strong developer (sure there are 3 running games).

I am curious, if you have no intentions of buying it why even come here to the forums?

It's just $5 more for 5 Dinosaur models. You act like they are asking $50 more. It's a $1 a Dino, it's a good deal. The base game is $55. If you preorder the base game you will get the vehicle skins for $55. If $5 is too just get the $55 base game. The 5 extra Dinosaur models will probably be made available as DLC after it's released anyway.

No offense but if $5 is too much then maybe you shouldn't be playing games at all. Cause it sounds like you have some financial issues and you need to get your priorities in order and games shouldn't be one of them.

If he thinks that is expensive the game here in Canada is 86$ plus tax, if it was only 60 I would be happy as a clam.

Not exactly.

Issue 1: Im happy to wait to buy games, im currently madly in love with one of frontiers other games even so not going very far.
Issue 2: I consider full price a premium. To warrant a premium price, i expect in return a premium offering, not an afterthought. Happy to wait for the non premium price to be available, or not play it at all if the values dont match. 200 steam games already giving me crap about being unopened.
Issue 3: I respect they have to pay royalies to whoever owns jp, but $60 is expensive if you look at frontiers own pricing for digital only offerings. Again, im happy to pay premium, but not just because they came and showed up.

That's it really.. im not one of THOSE fans.

As I allready told, I only ask If you agree with ghe price, I'll buy DE anyways.

I was expecting to pay $60 for the base game. When I found out that could get me the Deluxe edition and more dinos, I didn't hesitate. Frontier are making a game that I want to see succeed, so I'll gladly throw money their way in exchange for content. In fact, I hope they have some post-release DLC too, so I can keep supporting them.

I assume you're from the us? Well either way, I'm from The Netherlands(Europe) and I have to pay €65,- which is $80
I wish it would be $60
