Docking request - time out

So I`m just about to enter the docking port, and I request docking clearance. Which times out. I`m entering the no fire zone, and my next request times out. I dodge an Anaconda and reverse my thrust to exit the area. My next request times out also. And the next. And so on.

This has happened at every station for the last two nights. Is docking control on a break all together, or is this a bug other players have encountered?

warning: your forum post has timed out.

Weird things are definitely happening out there. I found what I thought was dropped cargo last night and tried to scoop it up....it was actually a heat seeking missile that someone had fired. It was just hanging there in space right outside the station.

I get the docking time out fairly regularly, but it they usually let me in after 5 or 6 requests.

This game is full of bugs....its almost like its still in beta or something.

This has happened to me but not for a long time, what I did was to move away from the station, enter SC for a second then exit it and re-approach the station. It seemed to work after that.

i just kept spamming the station with docking requests and eventually it gave me a go, it took maybe 50 spams from me :)

no clue why it's happening but once i lost my lakon type9 because of that (didn't pay enough attention to see that request was denied and upon trying to enter the station i was blown by it :)

I believe I've seen a Dev post somewhere that sort of attributes this to the number of NPC ships at a station taking up all the docking platforms, so the docking request can't complete. The post didn't say that in so many words, but seemed to point to this as the cause.

of course, I could be wrong

Hmm. More docking staff training required....

It`s good to see it`s not just me having that issue!

By the way, for a beta version, the game is still excellent. Worst example of a game that passed beta to release? IL2 Cliffs Of Dover.

The most I ever had was 10 in a row. I'd dropped out of frame shift very close to Aulin Enterprise and taken the short cut back to the front through the rings. It was almost as if the docking controller didn't approve of my stunt, so deliberately kept me on hold.

I've only ever seen this at busy stations - when I eventually get in all the docking bays are lit up!

Never seen it at the outer/quiet stations ..... so the above sounds plausible to me.

Ditto, had this a few times (less so in recent builds) and it's always been the busier 'core' stations.

SC away / back or save / restart generally seems to work.

my fix is enter sc and come back to station

I just started the multiplayer online server and as soon as I get into the game, I am at I Bootis and constantly telling me "request denied". I have traveled away from the station and good ways and even bounced between several star systems, every single one is "request denied" for any space station landings.

Unable to even start playing, so not sure what to do. Nothing suggested is working, very frustrating 1st impression :(
