"An appeal to the devs"

With all the brightly coloured paint jobs, ship kits, & raider kits going to press these days, I would like to start an appeal for the lonely Cobra Mk4, Fact did you know that, the recent added ship kits for the Diamond back Explorer, and more than likely Scout with officially make the cobra mk 4 the lowest least cared for ship.... Good I might here some of you say But lets not forget the Cobra 4 was brought to us very select few players as an exclusive reward for Elite Dangerous who upgraded to Elite Dangerous: Horizons during its first year.

So I would like to appeal to the Devs to show some love [heart] and provide us coby 4 drivers a raider kit in way of saying thank you for upgrading so long ago...

Though there is a mixed agenda on the C4 there are many players still using one, like myself[big grin].

So please lets make that special Raider kit for FREE for the C4 and not make it the only lonely ship in the corner with billy no mates....

I have no access to C4. Still I would be totally ok if people who have those will get some cosmetics.
I do not know who would ever make an outrage about this.

It's an exclusive, I'm not sure if they can actually change much, without inadvertently affecting the 'exclusive' deal that existed. Not everyone has access, and will ever have access, so it's not really reasonable to start fiddling with it. Cosmetics? They are bound to a ship type, so this is possibly isn't an issue. So if that won't violate terms, then yeah, of course, that'd be cool.

But screwing with C4 stats, for all the best intentions? Not so much. The little C4 is, what it is. Take it or leave it, really.

Probably not because some player will buy the ship kit not realizing that they don't have access to the Cobra Mk IV. Then tickets, rants and refunds. Putting the requirements in the description won't help as many only look at the pictures. Otherwise this kit would have probably shown up long ago.

I bought a raider kit for and AspX on one account and I stripped it off after one run - I find it really naff but the corroded repaints are OK.

I wouldn't fit any raider-kit stuff on my CmkIVs even if the kits were free.

BTW - Predator repaints for the CmkIV are ace! [up]

I'm aware it's a exclusive, that was was the whole idea of getting the expansion to get the ship it was a a reward for just that thing. BUT where are the rewards for the ship and players who bought into this, If you think about it, frontier missed a trick here really, as if it was not an exclusive item, then they could of easily have made this an option for other players later like now for example, with ships kits etc, to make more profit. But my point being is simply, If we as the exclusive player have this ship because we either paid for it or was a backer of sorts, then can't there be some extra exclusivity for those players seems reasonable enough right.

I vote yes. There just wont be enough users buying to make it worth the time. I still hope for a gold skin, but settle for the midnight black for now.

Exclusive doesn't mean forever. The strongest arguments for forever were "principle, regardless of misjudgement" and "I like lording things over others they can't have," not "I have a use for this and paid for the right to it." I am sorry if anyone feels that way, but unless it says permanent or timed exclusive, it can be either and one would have been making assumptions followed by selfish commentary.

Gistly, this ship being exclusive is toxic, both from a community standpoint and a monetary standpoint. You get the worst attitudes from both sides of the aisle and little room for cosmetics profits. FDev even regrets the decision.

Sitting on the problem is just as bad as people assume fixing it will be. I, for one, respect when someone can admit they were wrong and articulate why in the face of assured outcry. Demanding more out of someone is how you walk them off a cliff they thought wasn't smart to approach anymore.

I'm sure everyone wont mind the Cobra 4 being available to everyone, I guess if it did then more skins and kits would become available, However they insist on keeping it exclusive then provide some FREE kits and paints at least this would show loyalty to exclusive players at least.
