What is this Map Icon

I know what the yellow, blue and purple galaxy map icons/markers represent. Yesterday a bright green icon with a black head and shoulders on it showed up on the map. It was near Deciat on a HIP star.

Never saw one of those before. What do they signify?

I only see that icon once a month or so.

Most of the folks on my friends list left the game months ago, and the 2-3 who remain stick to private groups or solo most of the time.

That truly is new. I didn't know I had ever accepted a friend in ED during the last 3 years. Must have been a slip of the joystick trigger on the comms panel.

Anyway - thanks. Good to know.

Sorry.. could not resist.

That's a friend icon. If you look in that system in the gal map it will even tell you who it is.

Damn.. now I want a second account so I can name it Aunt Flow....

Right at this moment the dev at FD who spend months on the last tab of the Gal Map has their head in their hands and is quietly weeping "Why did I bother, why won't they look" I hope you're happy OP

EDITED to ADD: Just took a look at the Galaxy map. and I'll be darned. 3 years and never noticed that last tab. There it was and right near the top the Green Icon. Then again and in my defense - I've been trained by software companies that decided manuals were too expensive to print anymore, not to expect one and the one's that do come out are in PDF, usually pretty useless and very rarely updated - yep trained to ignore them even if they exist. Learn by doing is the way of gaming now. Never needed that tab, never looked at it. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. The poor dev that devoted his life to making that tab - well - let's not go there.

OH - and yes I'm happy.

It sounds more likely that you accidentally added someone to your friends list recently
I say this because friends show up in the upper right on the main menu, which is impossible to miss whenever you're on the main menu.

That, or the person on your friends list is almost never online.

Was no doubt a random friendship spam when docked at a CG station. Usually pirate groups do it so they can track players for 'gud huntin' later.

He should have his head in his hands anyway - he forgot to add the option that removes the transit lines so you could actually *see* all the stars you filtered for.
