Sauropods

I just wanna ask.. How many sauropods are gonna be in the game 😭 I just love saurpods and i am just wondering... I hope that mamenchisaurus or diplodocus can make it to the game.. Anyways.. The game is looking awesome! I can't wait!

I think it's safe to say that there will be 4-5 sauropods in the game.
Diplodocus isn't confirmed but it was seen in one of the IGN video's, very far away and the zoom in was pixelated but many believe it's Diplodocus by it's shape.

Considering that Diplodocus was one of the cancelled JPOG dinos I'm really rooting for it to appear. It shouldn't be left out again. #diversity #allsauropodsmatter #whatever

It was either that or a Mamenchisaurus, due to its pixelation though its pretty hard to tell. I'm a bit torn between which one it could be because the neck's in a position where it could ultimately be either imo.

I would be surprised if both would be in the game but that's also a possibility.

I always thought the sauropods we saw in TLW chase seen were Apatosaurus.

Since we have so many Hadrosaurs and at least 3 Dinosaurs in the game that kind of look the same I guess 1 or 2 more Sauropods wouldn't hurt.

3 confirmed sauropods in the game. Mamenchisaurus, as a movie sauropod, it suspected to be in the game, and we have one more possible sauropod. It is clearly a diplodocid, but whether or not it is the rumored Diplodocus or just another Apatosaurus is yet to be confirmed.

Stupid question: Is Mamenchisaurus a diplodocid?

Google is the best cheat sheet.

What did you expect? I'm not a encyclopedia. :)
I do have a few books about dinosaurs and one thing I knew before I even looked for information was that they aren't even closely related, the only thing both species have in common is that they are Sauropods.

My rule of thumb for the diplodocids: if it looks a lot like Apatosaurus it's a diplodocid lol.

Most of the ones I've seen depictions of have that very long neck and tail that are positioned vertically, and also have incredibly similar skulls. After all, the discussions on whether or not Brontosaurus is its own genus or is actually just an Apatosaurus is a result of their similarities.
