Uncommon and unknown carnivores

I am fascinated with what the Frontier team is doing with this videogame, they really do an incredible job bringing dinosaurs that we never thought they were yet in game, they thought of them and they have included them too.... Well, Frontier has surprised us with some Species Profiles of dinosaurs that we had never seen in the Jurassic Park / World franchise, including the Huayangosaurus that we saw in the gameplay ...

Well, do you think the Frontier team adds unusual carnivorous dinosaurs? same as herbivores but this time with meat eaters. something like an Irritator, Gojirasaurus, Alioramus, Szechuanosaurus, Xuanhanosaurus or Trodon (Use google-wikipedia to review Chinese dig sites).

Troodon is a very well known dinosaur, it even has it's own Family tree: Troodontidae.
Also it's found in various dig sites in the USA, from Alaska to New Mexico not in China.

Good observation, in question of the Irritator and the troodon I know they are not from China, Google translator did not translate to me that some take them out of the Chinese excavations and others do not. (Sorry, i speak spanish and i use google translate :( )

now, with the troodon, I know that for many it is known, but for someone who has not been fully involved in the franchise will be a new dinosario for them (JW: The game does not count) besides that it would be curious to see this animal inside the game

Translator is working very good. ;)
There are still a few spaces left for one or two carnivores, if we consider the rumored species to be correct.
Also in that rumored list is Giganotosaurus.

While she is by no means an unknown figure, I would love to see Cryolophosaurus. I believe it was Lora who correctly pointed out that there is no way to please every dinosaur enthusiast by including their favorite species - there are just too many. I totally agree with that, and I won't be disappointed if my personal favorite doesn't make the cut. Still, I think Cryo's have such a distinct look with their crowns. They would stand out beautifully.

Of course, if the crown is sexually dimporphic, that might be kind of a bummer in Jurassic Park, where all animals are female [haha]

Never knew about this one. I see what you mean though - it would be on a par with Tsintaosaurus being included, but like a carnivorous equivalent. Nice.

Edit: Ooo it's a Dilophosaurid too.... could increase it's chances of Frontier actually adding it as well! :D

Well let's see.

Irritator is a South American Spinosaurid. However is smaller(less than 8 meters) and lesser known than other 3 Spinosaurids which will be in the game - Baryonyx, Spinosaurus, & Suchomimus. In addition Irritator is known from the Santana Formation (which so far is not in the game). So it doubtful we will see this species - unless we eventually get the Santana Formation as a future dig site.

Gojirasaurus is a giant Coelophysoid(5-6 meters) from the late Triassic North America(Texas, New Mexico). And since there are no Triassic dig sites found in the game so far - this species is highly unlikely, at this time. Yes - it was named after the movie monster Gojira/Godzilla.

Alioramus is known from the Nemegt Formation - which is the same formation Gallimimus comes from. So this species is very possible. It belongs to more unusual tribe of tyrannosaurs than the typical Albertosaurine and Tyrannosaurine species. As they tend to much slimmer, with longer snouts. IMO - I hope this species or the similar Qianzhousaurus is in the game.

Szechuanosaurus, & Xuanhanosaurus are both known from the Dashanpu Formation. And both species are fairly small - JP/JW raptor sized predators. IMO - I think Yangchaunosaurus is much more likely as it is an Allosaurus/Torvosaurus size predator.

Troodon as has been pointed out, already is a fairly well known carnivore. Still I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in the game at some point.

Well known to dinosaur buffs, sure. But well known to the average person who isn't interested in dinosaurs? Not likely.

I love Cryolophosaurus. Another thing to consider: If they did add it, then we'd have dinosaurs from all seven continents. :)

I doubt we will see Cryolophosaurus available at game's release, because there is presently no dig site from Antarctica.

However - I still think it could be possible that we might end up seeing Cryolophosaurus in game thru some future DLC.

Good point.

Man, a Fossil Market (similar to the one in Operation Genesis) would be a cool way to grant access to unusual specimens from around the world, species not found in our dig sites. That would open up so many possibilities! But I'm straying off topic here. Apologies.

Coelophysis. I had these as JP toys as a kid. They were never in the movie or book. So it would be a completely new original Carnivore. They don't appear to be very large though. Wikipedia said 33-40 pounds.

Just give me compsognathus (compys) please!

I want to have a micro enclosure chock full of them ready to be unleashed on unsuspecting prey!

I loved those toys! They came in a pair, right? Pose-able rubber? I swear I had every JP toy that came out in the 90s. I hate the thirteen-year-old me that sold them all at a garage sale because I was "too old for toys." I would play with them more now than I did back then!

Back on point, Coelophysis would be a welcome addition to the park. I wouldn't mind a few more smaller dinos to zip around the big ones, just to add a sense of scale.

Yeah they came two in a pack and were bendable rubber, they had wire in them or something. They were cool toys. The original JP line was the best. I had a ton of them. The compound, the tracker jeep and a bunch of human figures and the smaller Dinosaurs. I gave all my toys to my nephews at the time cause I was older and into video games in the late 90's. I think they lost a lot of them. I had mine till 1999.

I wish there was some small Dinosaurs in the game. Small herbivores and carnivores. Of course I wish we had compys.

I'm afraid they will be a little to small, they look cool though.

Agreed.
I am thinking that pretty much any dinosaur smaller than a coyote/lynx in weight (~20-25 kg/44-55 lbs) likely won't be in this game.

Actually I would not be surprised if Dracorex is the smallest species (or one of the smallest) in the game.

I just want an Acrocanthosaurus:

I tend to agree. I have seen that Acro Skeleton many times in person. It is quite impressive, and My personal favorite Carcharodontosaurid.
