Was very much looking forward to the release, but found out a few things and not gonna buy it now...

I have a lot of games that use it. Never had any problems.

First thing that came to my mind when I read some of the ''bye'' responses was this:

No need to blame everything on Universal, Frontier also uses Denuvo for Planet Coaster and I say it again, it's not intrusive and doesn't have any impact on the game itself.
You can play offline and it allows for mod support, what Planet Coaster has in abundance.

I don't care if either frontier or Universal use Denuvo it's not exactly a bad thing in all honesty.

I have a couple of titles that use Denuvo, not had any issue with them, does not force online, performance is not impaired. Can't see what the OP's issue is, unless it's just with DRM in general, i which case, oh well.

In some cases, Denuvo can affect performance. But it only happens when your PC reaches the minimum requirements with luck.

i have a pc with a Gtx 760 2GB DDR5 and I5 4440 3.2 Ghz (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bits), i can run this game?

I know I can not play it with high settings, but it makes me nervous to know if my PC can run it at a minimum :( .... I do not want to ask for a refund :(

You exceed the minimum requirements so you probably do not have any problems with the game. The only thing that I can not tell you in what quality you can play it

I have Planet Coaster and it has Denuvo and like I said I have never had any problems with it
Also Planet Coaster has an enormous amount of mods, also with that no problems.
People seem to overreact sometimes but the OP seems to look for excuses to not buy the game and by posting it here it seems obvious this is to troll rather than to discuss.

Thing is, Planet Coaster has official mod support via Steam Workshop, so Frontier deliberately left avenues open to mod the game. As far as I know JWE will not have official mod support, so both are not comparable.

The way I understand it, Denuvo at the very least protects the executables from being tampered with. This includes modding. Changing the .exe is not necessary for every mod (in particular if the game is left deliberately open to mods), but some changes will be a lot harder or impossible for modders to implement.

Mods should just delete garbage threads like this.

Planet Coaster uses Denuvo and I have no issues with it. So no it was not Universal's idea. Frontier used Denuvo.

If the current Denuvo version is really intrusive then I might reconsider buying too.
I will have too look into it.
I am not blaming FDev though. I do not believe it was their decision.

Considering all the piracy going on I do understand the need to protect software and if Denuvo is decent to me as a user, then I will definitely not refrain from buying this awesome looking game..

If you have Planet Coaster it uses Denuvo.

I did a bit of research and it turns out I have at least 13 games that use Denuvo and there are several more I will buy eventually in the near future.

Batman: Arkham Knight
Metal Gear Solid V
Just Cause 3
Far Cry Primal
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Dishonored 2
Prey
Death of the Outsider
Far Cry 5
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Watchdogs 2
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Assassin's Creed Origins

Never noticed anything problematic with them.
Most of these are on my list of favourite games. Would not have wanted to miss out on them.

I would not be surprised if the op owned a few Denuvo games without even realizing it.

I have Metal Gear Solid V and it runs fine. Prey as well and it also ran fine last time I played it. If they game isn't running well it's either the game and poor optimization by developers or your PC isn't capable of running it at the settings you are using. Denuvo most likely isn't causing it.

Well I am sure you just changed frontiers minds. How DARE they not give your favorite Youtubers insider access to a game they are still working on. I mean since they are YOUR favorite YOU must be someone important now otherwise this thread would be silly.

Basically to explain in short what Denuvo is let me explain.

Denuvo, is an anti-tamper technology and digital rights management scheme developed by the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH, a company formed through the management buyout of Sony DADC DigitalWorks,

To sum it up the only reason Creat is un-happy is because he can't tamper and mod the JWE game files and codes, But to be honest why would you want to tamper with or mod the games files or codes it's a park simulation/management game it's not going to be complicated to finish the campaign, And if there's one thing I can't stand and disagree with is people who feel the need to cheat and exploit a game it's people like that who don't deserve the pleasure of playing these remarkable titles that the developers have spent so much time creating for us to enjoy.

I don’t think the mods hang out in the JWE forum. We might need our own mods at some point.

Thank You for clarifying things!

I started getting worried seeing people attributing ALL the negativities to Universal.
