Horizons The Quince Trap!

First time today to Quince. Took whatever planetary missions on the board and finished them. Status is wanted when back to station, closest low security sys to pay fines/bounties is about 270ly.

I know this sys has been nerfed but what’s the idea now of making available illegal missions that we can’t get rid of it’s effect and even cash out our rewards?! This is a trap seriously!

I said it before, game devs are pushing players off the game instead of into the game!

Taking things for granted in the absence of the alternative?! Not for so long mates!

One look at the Galaxy Map shows you have chosen to ignore the obvious, i.e., lack of IF stations so far outside the bubble. There are not even that many inhabited systems around Quince. Under those circumstances, why on Earth or any other planet would a Commander want to take on a mission that has even a chance of earning Wanted status? You have no one to blame but yourself, as I see it.

Ok. Let’s say for the sake of argument that I’m a stupid player who chose a sys outside the bubble that doesn’t have IF nor another close by sys that has one... so the idea here is to pay the price for choosing the sys, take illegal missions, travel 270 ly to IF station, pay the fines, back 270 ly, cash out rewards, take other missions, another 540 ly round trip to get rid of wanted status, and so on?! Game working as intended?

Am I being confused about the definition of stupidity here?! The question is why on earth make such missions available in such a sys, noting that it is a popular one, that has been nerfed, so devs are well aware that there is no IF. Are we like being punished here?

Oh yea... you want to grind Quince for credits to buy a half a billion armor for a 200 million ship and 1 billion more to A rate it? We’ll let you pay for it idiot... ha ha ha... this is the dev’s message here as clearly read out also in all of their recent nerfing. Bravo!

oops forgot that we are the ones to be blamed!

Hey - who went to Quince, did something illegal, and never bothered to check for an IF location? It's not like this is anything new.

Besides, there's plenty of other legal ways to make credits plus some of the best ships don't require you to earn anything close to a billion credits.

If this all feels like a slap in the face to you it's probably because it is. Take the lesson, figure it out - you might be a happier, more mature person because of it.

Apparently so. You made choices expecting the Universe to arrange itself for your convenience, when the easily obtainable facts tell just the opposite story. Are the mission rewards extremely generous? That's always a red flag, like Boom Data Missions to Alpha Centauri system, but the target station is orbiting Proxima, .20ly distant from system entry. TANSTAFFL.

So you saying it is a trap?! Did not know that this game tricks players this way!

The game is random, traps occur.

This is not random.. it is intended.

The universe arranging itself for my convenience... oh boy we are going deep now only to coverup one of thousands of this game malfunction.

Is anyone else just totally flabbergasted there's still people in Quince?

Dropped in there a while back while on an exploration trip just for giggles. Saw an Anaconda in super cruise. Just sitting there.

I can't even.

And this forum is anarchic, so you should have expected to be shot down coming here with this subject :D

Oh yea, I was expecting it, but didn’t care a bit. I call them the forum’s cavalry... their main mission, whether paid or free, is to ridicule players negative comments about the game, thus, discouraging others from speaking out freely. They are actually in most games forums. Got used to them.

No.

I saw 'The Quince Trap!' and clicked on your thread. To be fair, it's been insanely entertaining to me.

Ironically I see it this way from my end beyond any doubt!

i concur. what's the point of getting bounties, or having to worry about them, in a place where security is so weak. turns out if stations are actually unrelated to security, just another convenience patch for the c&p system. which i already assumed, but had no idea this was so sloppily devised. i just learned another quirk about the game today, had never been to quince. thx!

It sounds like Elite might not be the game for you. Maybe try Mechwarrior online where you can pay-to-win to your heart's content?

Oh no please... you totally crushed me... broke me down to pieces... old line buddy... find a new one :D

And what a Machwarrior player doing here anyway?!
