Star Trek Bridge Crew with voice commands

I owned the game since launch but haven't really played it other than once because I thought it was mainly multiplayer and I didn't feel ready to be a good crew member.

I just recently started playing the single player and I really enjoyed it. They added the ability to give voice commands so I'm commanding the crew of my Federation starship with my voice in VR. It's just such an immersive experience.

It got me thinking that there should be more space games that are more about commanding a ship and making decisions. I can only imagine how amazing it would be if the game had a procedurally generated galaxy like Elite and full RPG NPC dialog and campaign like modern open world RPGs.

Here is a gameplay video. That's not me in the video.

thanks for posting, appreciated. Is the voice commands built into the Star trek or do you use voice attack type program? I haven't played the star trek since a month after it came out so I guess I need to update :)

I am sure the built in voice commands were in already, as they were in place when I got it in June last year.,

I heard they added Next Generation stuff recently. Enterprise, Romulan's, Borg... If they add DS9 stuff I might look into it.

They're built in. It's using Watson.

@Gun Star

Yeah, there's a DLC coming that will add TNG ship and also new Borg missions that will be more a "Rogue-like" mission.

Janes explained that the new Borg mission, “Resistance,” will draw elements from roguelike games for an appropriate level of challenge. Players will need to travel through space and “retrieve scattered anti-Borg prototypes to fight off a Borg Cube that’s happily assimilating and slaughtering everything in its path.”
“Along the way, crews are faced with randomly presented challenges that have to be completed with the knowledge that every second spent brings the Borg Cube ever closer,” Janes said. “Warping to another solar system will buy you time, and each prototype successfully collected will provide you with a new tool for fighting the Borg…but each time you face the Cube, it’s adapted to your tactics and becomes ever more powerful. And the Cube gets very mean, very quickly.”

Also, there's a non-VR version.

Might want to try and get your paws on the old Star Trek: Bridge Commander or Klingon Academy if that sort of game is your bag (oh and i-war, of course).

And Star Fleet Academy, especially for the hammy acting from the TOS crew :D
