Newcomer / Intro Rank progress stuck on CADET? What's wrong? Need Help.

I am 'Allied" with FEDERATION and have Rank of 'CADET 100%'...I have run at least 25 Missions in Federation Space for Federation factions since then, but no change in the ranking?

Should not I see something like 'MIDSHIPMAN 15%' ?

Is there some special missions I have to run or one of those Navy mission?

Don’t panic.

Promotion missions are now found in the ‘Follow up missions’ box...above ‘Available Missions’ on the Mission Board (after a couple of Friday night tipples ive momentarily forgotten the correct term but follow up is close enough.) Its also worth pointing out that once you hit 100% in any given rank doesn’t mean you will instantly be provided with a rank up mission. You may have to wait quite some time BUT whilst you wait any mission you undertake that offers Rep for the Feds will be added onto your percentage for the next rank. So once you take and complete a rank mission you may find you jump straight to 37% Warrant Officer. The same applies for the Imperials if/when you rank up with them.

Hope that helps

Thee are special missions to progress to the next rank, but don't worry in the background a record is being kept so when you do achieve the next rank you will already have made progress in it.

To get offered the ranking mission you need to be in with the faction offering the missions and that faction needs to be aligned with the superpower you are trying to gain rank with.

The missions appear at the top of the missions list and contain the word Navy or Naval in the title.

First up, your rep percentage with the Federation (Allied, Friendly etc) is largely irrelevant to rank, not even sure what that rep does, if anything.

Secondly, in order to move up the ranks (Cadet etc), once you're at 100%, minor factions aligned with the Federation can start offering missions that will award you the next rank in the navy on completion. These missions will always have words such as "Federal Navy" in their title. If you're still not sure about one, look through the rewards; if it's an ascension mission, it will have a rank at the bottom of the rewards.

It's known that you need a minimum rep level with a minor faction in order for ascension missions to spawn, however I'm not sure if its Friendly or Cordial, sorry (someone may be able to answer definitively). Once you finish the mission, you'll get the next rank.

Although FDev have buffed the spawn rates considerably, it's all RNG at the end of the day. Sometimes it may take a few boards to get the mission to spawn, and sometimes it will spawn a mission you're not confident performing. No need to worry about lost rank however, even though your panel says "100%", your rank isn't capped. When you do finally get the ascension mission, any rank gained since hitting 100% will be applied to your new rank.

Thanks so much guys:)...what was missing for me was doing those "Federation NAVY" missions.. they are called "follow up" and there is a "chain" symbol next to them...

The Fed/Imp/Alliance reputation bar increases the speed you can gain reputation with their minor factions. So a full 100% ally of the Federation will gain reputation in Fed space 2x faster than someone with 0%.
It barely matters these days, you can go from 0 to 100% in a single session by choosing rep for mission rewards.

Heh, TIL. Cheers.

So didn't the one you had previously taken to give you the Cadet rank appear the same?
