Lack of dinosaur variety

A good deal of Frontier's dinosaur list for JWE is actually dictated by the species which have a history with the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World series.
There are about 45 species between - the 5 films and 2 novels. Most of which is actually in the game, deluxe edition and Fallen Kingdom DLC.

I will never knock the inclusion of cannon dinosaurs! :)

Well - looking at the species which are canon for the JP/JW series - We see the following brake down.

18 Carnivore species (not including marine reptiles, Pterosaurs, or Hybrids)
- 4 species of Large Carnivores (10+ meters)- Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, Suchomimus, & Tyrannosaurus rex
- 6 species of Medium sized Carnivores (5-10 meters) - Baryonyx, Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Elaphrosaurus & Metriacanthosaurus
- 8 species of small Carnivores(1-5 meters) - Deinonychus, Velociraptor, Herrerasaurus, Ornitholestes, Coelurus, Proceratosaurus, Procompsognathus, Compsognathus,

27 species of Herbivorous Dinosaurs
- 4 species of Sauropods - Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, & Mamenchisaurus
- 6 species of Hadrosaurs - Corythosaurus, Edmontosaurus, Hadrosaurus, Maiasaura, Nipponosaurus, & Parasaurolophus.
- 4 species of Ceratopsians - Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Sinoceratops, & Pachyrhinosaurus
- 3 species of Ankylosaurs - Ankylosaurus, Euoplocephalus, & Hoplitosaurus/Polacanthus
- 1 species of Stegosaur - Stegosaurus
- 2 species of Pachycephalosaurs - Pachycephalosaurus, & Stygimoloch
- 2 species of Ornithomimids - Gallimimus, & Archaeornithomimus
- 5 species of misc. small ornithopods - Callovosaurus, Dryosaurus, Othnelia, Lesothosaurus, and Microceratus.

Thats a pretty good mix of dinosaurs. Unfortunately we're only getting 9 carnivores on release with 3-4 more in the fallen kingdom DLC.

Actually we don't know for certain how many species of dinosaurs we are getting for the Fallen Kingdom update - yet.

You are forgetting about the 2 carnivores from the Deluxe edition - Suchomimus and Majungasaurus.

Also looking at genetic make of the Indominus rex - you could add the following carnivores to the list.
- Giganotosaurus (which explains why it is in the game)
- Maujungasaurus (which explains why it is in the Deluxe edition)
- Rugops (may be in a future DLC/Update)
- Therizinosaurus (may also be in a future DLC/Update)

The AMA kind of hinted at Allosaurs being in it too.

You do realise that science is not a popularity contest and that any hypothesis put forward by Horner is subject to the same scrutiny as any other scientist. As a result, any hypothesis he does make is judged soley on the merit of the science and not simply by virtue of the fact that a famous scientist said it. Therefore, the hypotheses that stand up to the rigors of the scientific method and are found to be lacking are rejected and visa versa. He could say that T-rex was actually made of spaghetti for all he liked, but for it to be taken seriously he would have to present evidence for it. I'm not entirely sure about what your point is. You've become lost in your own facetiousness.

If you think the variety is acceptable than thats fine. Good for you sir.

You know...*pinches nosebridge* I was attempting to lighten the mood with some small Jurassic Park movie quotes in order to put in some small comedy here. This was not meant as an attack at all. Facetiousness? Man...who hurt you that you can just chuckle lightly and agree to disagree...you're more vicious than a pack of Compys! D:

Guy one: "Did you find him?.."

Guy two: "Only the parts he didn't like..."

You're "jump the gun" attitude scares me. Is your vision based on laughter? You just trample and kill it when you see it?

That's harsh man...harsh.

Discrediting a distinguished scientist who has contributed more to paleontology than almost anyone alive today with baseless accusations is grounds for a humourless rebuttal.

*holds head in hands , exhales* "I really hate that man"

However, in the harsh light of day (well, technically it's evening here in Australia), I must admit that my response may have been a tad overzealous. I attribute that to the mindframe I was in at the time; it's kind of frustrating trying to have a genuine discussion about concerns you have with a game, with people dismissing them out of hand and I read your message with a very sly and 'facetious' tone. Obviously I was wrong and overreacted and for that you have my genuine apologies.

I see you you're a fan of JP:TLW. Don't go into the long grass?
