Spinosaurus is small, yes! It will be? Guys I was watching a video, and at 7:08 until 7:28 the Spinosaurus is fighting a T-Rex, and he's a lot smaller than the Tyrannosaurus. But at 7:29 he is being killed by the Tyrannosaurus, and you can see that he is the same size! Is it just printing, that he's bigger then, or was not he really small? Watch the video here

We know, the devs know it's being looked st but not getting fixed anytime soon.

In the Species Profile of both the two dinosaurs, they looked the same size. But in this gameplay the Spinosaurus seems to be the size of a Ceratosaurus. It will be the reason Rex is great, is there any gene in the game that will make the dinosaurs bigger? Or are they the developers who did it wrong?

The Rex in JP3 that fought the Spino was supposedly a sub adult. It was not fully grown.

I just watched the video and I am not seeing the huge size disparity people are seeing.

As far as I know, there is not that much difference in size between the TLW adult and the JP3 sub-adult, but the Spinosaurus is much bigger in the movies, in this gameplay it is smaller than the Tyrannosaurus. I quoted the possibility that a gene has left the Tyrannosaurus larger, but it may be that Frontier has put a new mechanic on it when the newborn dinosaurs are born smaller (not babies, but a little smaller than the adult versions)? Spinosaurus may have just left the incubator and gone to fight against adult Tyrannosaurus.

According to official stats - the Buck from TLW is about 0.9 meter/3 feet longer, and 0.5 meter/1.5 feet taller than the male from JP3. Buck is listed as being 12.2 meters/40 feet long, and 4.9 meters/16 feet tall. While the male T.rex from JP3 - is listed as being about 11.3 meters/37 feet long, and 4.4 meters/14.5 feet tall.

The JP3 Spinosaurus is listed as being about 13.4 meters/44 feet long, and about 6 meters/19.7 feet at the top of the sail.

By comparison - Rexy is the largest T.rex in the entire JP/JW series. And according to her JW stats - She is 13.4 meters/44 feet long, and 5.12 meters/16 feet 10 inches tall.

Spino Size

I know Frontier wants to make the T-Rex the king for the generic T-Rex fans but they have to make Spinosaurus at least the same size and preferably even a little larger to make it more accurate. Yes I know the most recent models of Spinosaurus have smaller legs but nobody has ever argued the fact that Spinosaurus is considerably longer than the T-Rex. Spino is also widely agreed upon to have weighed more than T-Rex and in the clip I just saw from the gameplay, that was definelty not the case. C’mon Frontier. Have Spino live up to what a lot of us fans want to see. Make the T-Rex and Spino fights win outcome like 50/50 for both so T-Rex and Spino fans can be satisfied. And also of course make the Spino bigger.

Yeah it's almost like perspective makes a difference.

I don't think there is anything to fix. Based on the clips you've presented, Spino was never significantly smaller, it was merely the camera angle and the positioning of the dinosaurs that made Spino appear smaller.

Spinosaurus may not be full adult either, but since it is the only one in the franchise, we have only this information. Rexy and Spiny have the same size, and in the game the Spinosaurus looks smaller than the T-Rex, not only tall, but also long.

Exactly, the Spinosaurus should be slightly larger and also a bit stronger in appearance, it looks kind of weak.

Yes, I think it's just printing and perspective, but the Spinosaurus should be slightly bigger.

Should be? Yes, but Spino being approximately the same size as T. Rex isn't something that bothers me, especially considering the nature of animating. I'm okay with it, so long as Spino isn't notably smaller.

Well - the question is which JP/JW T.rex is the JWE T.rex modeled on ?

If it is Rexy - from JW - then it makes sense that T,rex and Spinosaurus should be basically the same size. But if it - one of the T,rexes from TLW - well then Spinosaurus should still be at least 2-4 feet longer. And given that the real Spinosaurus was estimated to be about 12- 20% longer than the largest confirmed T.rex. I do think that Spinosaurus should be about 1.5 meters/5 feet longer than the T.rex.

So if the JWE T.rex is about 12.2 meters/40 feet long - then the Spinosaurus should be about 13.7 meters/45 feet long. Personally I would hope that the JWE is based on Rexy from JW - that way Spinosaurus should be about 14.9 meters/49 feet long - which is roughly the same length as the real Spinosaurus.

Still even at that size - I could see a Rexy sized T.rex being able to beat the Spinosaurus. But it would be a big, hard & tough battle.

I personally think it was the angel the picture is take at.

I have said it was forced perspective from the beginning. I just watched a video with the Rex and Spino fighting and it looked fine. The same size or just about. It's basically another non-issue like the Spino roar.

People make it seem like the Spino is a dwarf compared to the Rex and that's not the case.

Yes, I rushed out of the perspective. Also strange are the Spinosaurus sounds, if Universal guaranteed all JP / JW sounds to the Frontier, so why did not they use their JP3 sound? And another thing, but I do not care much, is that the Spinosaurus also seems thin. I do not care about that, but my biggest concern was his size, but now it's the sounds.

From what I understand the original JP3 sounds are lost. They can't find them, I mean Universal. The Dinosaurs have different roars and sounds they make. It probably does make the JP3 roar in certain situations. Frontier didn't want the same 2-3 sounds used all the time.

On the internet it is good to find these sounds. They can put new sounds in Spino, but at least his main roar should be the original of the movie.

Quality is an issue. That's probably why they don't go around just taking sound files from anywhere.

Yes, that's true, but they could recreate the sound of the Spinosaurus and be able to adapt it to his other sounds. Maybe they can find the "components" that make up his roar.
