What are you're Top 5 Things you wish to be in ED for the final Game?

My are:

1.) Automatic movement rotation compensation for Space Stations.
So that you can fly along it and in all those little gaps etc,
like an X-Wing in the Trenches of the Death star.

2.) Outside Camera to watch my Ship (and others too)
and make beautiful Screenshots with it! First Encounters had those too,
like flyby cams and so on and i enjoy it to watch the ships flying in space.
(What is the point in selling Paintjobs anyway if i can`t see it?!)

3.) Adjustable HUD-Color (and more Bubble Heads.) :D

4.) Navigation Map / Target set to Planet/Station Scale.
Picking the Station directly, so that i don't have to select it after
Hyperjump, as i steer into the sun on this point anyway...
(Don't mean to skip the Superdrive, just speed things up)

5.) Better Trading list.
Sorting in the Trade list. Have Price and Average Price next to each other. etc.

Gotta agree with the external camera and we definitely need an improved map.

1. Effective NPC engagements - pirates, bounty hunters and the ability to encounter other ships in space, not just at station/a couple of combat zones. This includes seeing NPC's in supercruise.

2. An extended equipment list, including engines, computer upgrades, ECM, shield capacitors, the ability to sacrifice cargo space for equipment

3. More complex and interesting mission structure

4. Balance in the markets - items like gold should be less plentiful and run. Missions for higher payments for commodities should represent items that become rare at that station to boost trade

5. A Fer-De-Lance
 
1. Higher real space speeds/scanner range and weapon range by about a factor of 5 - i would like to be able to fly faster in real space than a present day fighter jet.

Speeds at around 2000 m/s does not make dogfighting impossible, espesially when you can engage from around 30 km away and lets face it, any craft more than 2 km away are just red hud markers anyway.

2. Mining system that dosen't just boils down to "shoot magic blue beam at asteroid" something more involved would be nice.

3. A more indebt energy managing system like i should be able to put pips in main engines but also into manuvering thrusters as needed making the ship faster or more manuverble.

4. more bobble heads (of cause).:p

5. Hopefully more ways to make big money other than resorting to trading - i know the game isen't out yet but it does seem like that once you have a sizable ship you are a fool to do anything but trading if you want to make money.
 
Nothing that I hope isn't already well under way...
1. Better mission structure - including ranks in the two militaries, ships as rewards.
2. Finish off supercruise and interdiction mechanics - interdict other players, no juddering on SC exit.
3. Ships - more of them (at least the fer de lance and asp explorer), more stats on outfitting screen, ship previews, multiple ships per player, more outfitting choices.
4. Mining and fuel scooping
5. let me out of that 55-system bubble.
 
retro rockets !!!!

the ultimate 1 shot of power for when you really need to escape .... blockade at a system, fire up the one use rockets

interdiction by 3 cobras .... boost out of range

they can be expensive, they can be bulky ... but a good get out of jail card
 
  • The camera to see from the outside
  • The colors of the hud
  • Many rankings on the future home page of the game (Top 100 of the best fighters, of the best traders, of the best spaceships, of the best discoveries etc ...)
  • For each stellar system, list of names of commanders, passed into the last 24 hours
  • A galactic lottery every 20 minutes, 24/24, 7/7 in the game
 
1- Player Corporation for the online mode with all the tools (contract/missions/tax/hangars) and a Chat that works!!!
2 - Better Trading GUI, more data, and when I fly, I want to have brackets on all the stuff that flies in space.
3 - Build all the stuff that can be traded so that market is player driven
4 - New ship fitting screen where you can change all the parts in your ship, and test the energy consumption so that you can tune your priorities (that will stop you from going cold in space when you activate your guns and feel very silly).
5 - Player hangars were I can dump my stuff.

This game already exists. It's called Eve...
 
1. EVA for emergency repairing ship outside of dock and doubling up as an external camera.

2. Mining and everything that comes with that (ships, equipments, refineries, resource claim wars)

3. More ships and multi ship ownership

4. 500+ star systems

5. Up to date VR SDK integration
 
  1. Key bind for Galaxy map
  2. Filtering for Galaxy Map. As it stands it's a mess once you get to a Type 6
  3. Ability to access galaxy map from within the star port services menu
  4. External Galaxy map on second monitor
  5. More systems
 
1: A basic tutorial on how how to dock, launch , eject all your cargo for pirates(me ) etc ;-)

2: More ship upgrade options that change your ship appearance eg. engines are larger, armour changes texture/chunkiness/sleekness of ship etc.

3: My commander visible in the cockpit (not out the back performing emergency maintenance every time you look) with associated emotes - wave, thumbs ups, salute , flip the bird etc ;-)

4: Character creation and upgrade options such as: equipment / cybernetic / biotech etc. as your commander is an important part of your ship and should be upgradeable too :D

5 : More ships (when I really mean - Imperial Courier ! )
 
1) Personal "stations" - not like sovereignty stations but rather something we can buy, and can pop up in a system to hide our booty, and ships - and have to defend from people trying to steal it (for the easiest description - more like POSes in Eve, rather than station eggs)

2) Buttons for a) Galaxy Map b) Request docking from the targeted station (so that we can bind them easier in voice attack)

3) Bookmarks and route planners in the galaxy map

4) External camera views for taking pictures of the beautiful galaxy we inhabit

5) More skins, bobbleheads and other trinkets to adorn our ships with.
 
Things I would like to see in final release:

1. smoother integration between supercruise and normal flight - feels too distinctly separate to me and breaks the immersion
2. more variability in mission types available e.g.
a. rare, non-human artifact discoveries/ storyline/ missions
b. ability to set up/ build/ own / be involved in building new space stations
c. spy/ journalist/ diplomat mission mechanics - trade information as well as materiel

3. Alien race interactions
4. Ship-to-ship trading/docking
5. Planetary landings to come as soon as possible after launch!

2. Landing and walking around on planets (may need to include a space suit in the equipment list).
3. Multiple ship ownership (parking/storage fees needed?)
4. Second hand ship sales.
5. Docking with larger ships. (More interaction with faction military forces?)

These are written on the assumption that most of the improvements people have listed on existing features will happen in the final game or in a future update.

I'm not saying FD should attempt to copy any games but in Jumpgate another awesome space MMO (now shut down permanently) when you were mining yea you did all the usual blue laser on an asteroid thing but you used to get ore quicker if you were orbiting the asteroid rather than sitting in one spot. This made things interesting when you were mining something heavy, say Uranium, as the more your cargo was filing the more you had to adjust your orbit until eventually it got too scary to continue mining in fear of losing it completely and flying off into some thing else. The physics in the game were just awesome.
 
Some items on other lists, I also want, like mining equipment, fuel scoop, more ships, planet strolls,
but they are coming.

Military class weapons.

1. Jump route calculator
- set your destination in the galaxy map, and the map displays the minimum number of jumps necessary.

2. More detailed info at station interface
- better stats on weapon specs
- better stats on commodities

3. Fuel Scoops
To accommodate deep, deep, deep, deep space exploration

4. An inter-system market module
To probe distant markets for current prices on any given commodity, and highlight emerging markets where demand is higher for a particular commodity

5. Large scale scripted system events (not procedurally generated)
Specifically designed events that draw a large number of players to a particular region in order to engage in group based adventuring (gold rushes, hostile planetary takeovers, ancient alien tech discoveries, that sort of thing)
